There's a kid that played at Western Carolina this past season he's going to be a JR and he's in the portal. Taron Dickens, he had 3500 yards passing led FCS w 38 pass tds and only 2 int. He had a QB rating of 188.2
He did all of this only playing in nine games.

The kid can also scramble when need be. He is only 5'11 185 but at this point IDC. We need a 3rd QB and he is in the portal. Probably wouldn't cost us a lot and he isn't young enough to scare FB or GMAC off.
I feel like this kid's definitely worth taking a look at he could provide depth with experience and I think he actually could possibly start this year and maybe at least buy some time for Faizon or GMAC to develop a little more.

I saw him play in person at The Citadel this year. He was pretty fun to watch, but I’m not sure about his arm strength at the P4 level. That league doesn’t play much defense. He didn’t play early in the year against Wake Forest, but I’m guessing he got the nod after starting the year 0-3. They ended up going 7-5, so good for him.

It looks like Syracuse is the only "major" school that has offered him and a little digging shows he was suspended for some reason at the start of the season.

To his credit, he's a gunslinger's gunslinger which would be fun to watch but 5'11" in the SEC is tough unless you're Bryce Young gifted.

His passes float a little more than they should. They'd get eaten up by an SEC secondary.
Many of those are “touch” passes.

When he does square his shoulders and guns it, it did lack “umph”.

But so did Aguilar.

However, this kid is not as fast as he should be. At his size he should be able to really scoot. But he would get run down.

if only we recruited a guy that can play another position….but also be the 3rd QB

I do agree but....... he had our best qb behind Milton. He should be thankful Milton got injured vs WV.
It’s just not that simple. Milton was out performing Hooker during practice. Think about it. Put yourself in a coaches position. You are your players everyday in practice. You see one QB looking better. Are you really gonna just start the one who looks like the lesser of the two?

Also fans are the ones who think this QB is perfect for us. But does Heupel? Because at the end of the day he is the one who took a mediocre QB from App State and made him into one of the best QBs in the SEC. He was the one who took basically a nobody at VT, turned him into a Heisman contender and got him drafted.
