Stop picking on Jancek

I was skeptical of Jancek from early on. I argued with many here (probably some who are now condemning Jancek) that he did not get as much out of the '13 D as they were capable of. Two years later, he still didn't seem to get the most out of the talent he had even with considerably more talent to work with.

Not picking on him. Some guys simply aren't good enough to make the step up. IMO, this is the case with Jancek. He already had a failed tenure in the SEC. However it could have just been a bad fit once they moved. It happens.

I hope he gets an NFL position job and has great success.

Jancek came in at a time when the football program was obscured by the smoke from innumerable mattresses burning.
He and the rest of the staff have elevated our position to where we are turning heads, winning games, and now have (albeit sometimes overinflated) optimism regarding the direction of our team. I truly appreciate his time and effort, and I firmly believe he has considerably improved our team. Has he reached his ceiling? Are there off field issues? I have no idea. This is where we have to have faith in our high paid coach's judgement as shepherd of our football brand.
I definitely am excited about Shoop joint our team, however I remain thankful to Jancek and hope for him the very best in the future (except in the event he ever plays against UT).
Good luck coach! Godspeed

IMO Jancek earned some more time as our D coordinator. He had our D flying around and being very physical later on in the season. I think that Jancek did a phenomenal job with our D conserding that he didn't have much depth and SEC talent to work with until this season. He is a solid recruiter and a good coach. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he ends up back with Coach Richt at Miami.

I didn't catch what was said about him, but let's keep it classy Volnation. Coach Jancek helped to bring the program from where it was to where it currently stands. I do be believe Shoop will prove to be an upgrade at the position. Coach Jancek should be appreciated for what he did and wished the best.

Well said bro.

Nobody (I think) is saying that he wasn't a good coach, only that he wasn't a GREAT (top 10 DC) coach and in order to compete for SECC or NC, CBJ felt he needed to upgrade - and a good fit rock star DC was available. No knock on Jancek, just that he isnt Shoop.

Yikes. I hope the man isn't relying on you for a recommendation when the NFL comes calling.

This assessment is kind of like saying "Bob, you can't spell your own name, you think math is a type of bug and you total a car every time you so much as brush your teeth....good luck at NASA, son. You are the next John Glenn"

I'm familiar with your work and I ask now, sincerely, are there any coaches on this staff, or in recent years, who you think are earning their paycheck?

Go vols

...and Sal Sunseri and Dave Clawson

As to Clawson, I feel he is a fairly decent coach that Fulmer put trust in, but he scheme sis not match the players we had at the time.

As to Sunseri? Let's not get carried away.
