No I get he had 10 win at Lambuth and Arkansas State but we aren't playing in those conferences and you have to admit they do have lesser talent than even our lower tier programs. Lambuth is a small conference and Arkansas St is sunbelt and no win against top 25 teams. I am judging him on his SEC experience since he has been an SEC coach. Everyone is saying SEC experience and he has that and his SEC resume is not impressive enough to say he can do it here since he has to play those same teams he coached against. Go look at his record for top 25 sec teams wins in which we play every year.
He won 10 games and the Sugar Bowl at Ole Miss, you're totally missing the point. Tennessee has far greater resources than Ole Miss. Ole Miss is not the Equivalent of South Carolina there bud. Ole Miss has won SEC championships and National titles in football. Yes it may have been in the 40's-60's but they have a tradition of winning. He won 10 games and the Sugar Bowl at Ole Miss, you're totally missing the point. Lol they're the equivalent of South Carolina, they have limited resources. You still don't get it which leads me to believe you never will, bud.Ole Miss is not the Equivalent of South Carolina there bud. Ole Miss has won SEC championships and National titles in football. It's about both, without a very good defense you aren't going to win it either. And if you cannot run and pass you aren't going to win it either. Without hosses at the LOS you aren't going to win it either. Butch tried the spread with smaller weaker lineman and got butt whipped. You have to be a total package. Bama and Georgia still have power runners and can run the ball, it isn't just all pass happy. One of the main reasons I think Bama will beat Florida, they are a more balanced attack and it will wear on Florida. They will make UF one dimensional. I also think Bama has a overall better defense. Yes teams throw more, but this is still a LOS league and that isn't going to change. We need more powerful backs, backs that are strong and fast. Gray is very good but neither him nor chandler got the power running game that is needed. Gray is needed, we just need a power guy with him. Hopefully Evans an Brown can compliment him. Our recievers quit on routes and don't get off blocks nearly good enough. We got a toughness problem, especially on offense. We have no bell cow DOGS! We have no senior leadership at all, again I think that is one of our biggest problems. Hopefully some leaders will emerge from our younger guys, we need some dogs. We are a bland team right now and that has to change. GBO!except the game has changed in the SEC and its more about offense now
No, I think you get the best coach you can get. I actually like Matt Campbell quite a bit. I’m just suggesting that the order of operations should be- championship coach, program custodian til you can get a championship coach. Of course, this is the type of logic and commitment to program that would have needed to be in place back when we fired Fulmer for a teenage dirtbag. So we shouldn’t look for a Freeze or Campbell? Guys who are established themselves as really good X’s and O’s Coaches. Guys who have proven they can develop talent.
Nah. Instead we should go with yet another career coordinator hire. Is that what I am reading here?
i don't think people realize that coaches don't want the Tennessee job and that's why we end up with who we end up with.
Brian Kelly and Gary Patterson both wanted the job. We hired Kiffin and Dooley. It's nothing to do with someone wanting the job, we have no one with talent to identify good coaches.
Ole Miss has never been to Atlanta.
they wanted the job when they would've been called "google coaches" on here. No one established wants this job, you have to gamble on assistants and G5 coaches because that's all that will entertain the position.
Know your facts before you post...Ole Miss has never been to Atlanta.
