Steele may not happen. Not good if true.

So we’re going to pay Steele $900k to be here a month or so in the off-season?
Just clean house, times are changing. Out with the old , can't have two mixed staffs. Steele to close to Fulmer. Probably try to Sabatage this whole thing . Fulmer and those associated with him can't be trusted. Cut bait before bad juju happens.

The problem with this offense is you put major pressure on the defense because they are on the field to much. If it’s not Steele he better get someone with SEC defensive experience or it’s going to be a long year.
Glad you aren’t the coach!

Dang I was hoping Steele would stay. If Randy Shannon isn't named UCF head coach that could be a good DC hire
how would this be a good hire and they couldn’t stop a damn AAC schedule with their pitiful defenses. This is the dumbest hire and foolishness under the sun. The idiot should be told you hv to kp Steele and hire Gardner and the Lb coach not retained at Auburn Travis Williams. All for recruiting purposes because last time I checked they were 4th in AAC in recruiting which is not going to win recruiting battles in the SEC

It will be his biggest hire by far whom ever he chose's. The thing I think we need to remember as far as recruiting the people that he was going after at UCF are a totally different group of players. He was basically recruiting the athletes that were being recruited by Memphis and MTSU because the big dogs were looking to go to the SEC. Cincinnati is the top of the class in the AAC and they are rated #42 and I think and Vandy is #50 in the 2021 recruiting rankings, so that says something.

I mean first off let’s be fair regarding Huepel... he didn’t have the same budget he has here at UT to hire staff.

I think he will make solid hires for the defensive side of the ball even if he lets Steele go. JMO. We have a lot of money to be able to shell out now that we are basically only paying $4Mil a year on a head coach instead of the like $9Mil we were probably going to dish out for Franklin.

And that $9 mil would’ve been well worth it from a guy whose won at a Vandy vs a guy who is making $4 mil and couldn’t out recruit Memphis and Houston and 2 others in the AAC. Could cover a full size bed with a king size sheet on defense. Just kept trying to run the score up putting the defense right back on the field blowing big games. No concept of clock management coast him 2 games I saw

2 games by 5 points a piece. His offenses are electric. If he can get the right DC and Assistants on that side of the ball. He could do very well at UT.

You’re right man ij hate these calls from other SEC coaches and fans laughing in my face because UT refuses to get right.

Again, what more can you do if a coach turned down over $9mil a year..... ? I don’t know why that’s hard to understand. None of the big targets wanted to come here and we are possibly going to get sanctioned for stupid stuff Jeremy Pruitt and his staff was doing.....

Atleast we were able to pull a Coach who is known for multiple 600+yd games.....

in the AAC and he lost more games every year. The stuff CJP done is regular football business. Idiot booster got mad and they turned and got JG and family to flip because he got benched. They hv threatened to do this for years. When you are at a school where boosters would rather be 6-6 but strut on the field feeling like they run the show and get mad that coaches don’t kiss azz then you hv what you see here. Money is paid every where real recruiting goes on. Wake up

Lol you don’t think I know “money is paid” get real.

But to sound the way you do while not logically thinking about how bad our Offense was with someone who was supposed to be a Guru in Jim Chaney (Huepel’s Offenses make Chaneys look like garbage)

Then to see the defensive product we put on the field with a HC who is literally known for his defensive prowess..... speaks for itself.

Huepel may not of been the best hire but it could turn out to be a really good hire for the situation we are in. Especially if he gets the right defensive staff.

As for his ACC loses he lost 4 games each by a score.... we were getting blown out in the SEC with a defensive coach and we went 3-7 lol 😂

Edit: Not to mention UCF had 10 players that were starters Opt out last year. Oh and in 2019 his 3 loses were by a combined 7 points.

2019:
Tulsa - 3
Cincinnati - 3
Pitt - 1

2020: COVID
Tulsa - 8
Memphis - 1
Cincinnati- 3
BYU - 26 (Bowl Game and Only Bad Loss)

I mean Steele is signed for 2 yrs why not use his expertise somewhere. He can recruit, knows the SEC and if you don't want him as DC make him the LB coach. I would much rather pay him 900k to do something and for that price you are getting a hell of a value for him to do something.
Because Heupel didn't brint him in.

I really don’t see the point in hiring Steele if we knew we were days away from firing Pruitt and then hiring a new AD and coach. I mean did we really hire him to be an interim coach for a few weeks in the offseason? We could have just assigned that role to Chaney for a lot cheaper.
