I have been pretty positive about this hire. But if this is true then it will change things for me significantly. Steele is a very good and well respected DC who can recruit and develop. He has great ties to the South. This could hurt big time.
Yes, it was. It's a sign that the administration wasn't on the same page with how to proceed following the termination of Pruitt. It appears as though the initial plan was for Fulmer to remain AD, name Steele as a one year interim, and gauge how well Steele performed.. and then conduct a more thorough search if Steele wasn't working out. My guess is that this was what Randy Boyd wanted to do, but then Plowman changed course.

I am not familiar with Josh, but I believe Dan opposes hiring top button fasteners for on field coaching positions. At this point, though, who knows? Here is promising defensive coordinator to interview

That rumor has been blown way out of proportion. It's no secret Steele tried to get Gus's job behind his back. Couple that, with Steele and Fulmers relationship all these years. Is it really surprising CJH would have concerns about retaining him in ANY capacity? It isn't to me.
I just heard a couple media members saying run away from Steele, he's a rat.
