Well we can agree to disagree because i really dont see how keeping about 18 recruits to stay with a coach they know nothing about, with a less than stellar background, in 2 weeks is the easiest recruiting job in the world.
I'm glad you think that.
I actually went to the University of Oakland Raiders before transferring to Tennessee. How did you know?
They preferred Dooley over Kiffin and it sold the deal.
Oh, I'm glad I got this insight into the acolytes, other candle-lighters, and just straight up nihilists.
You are on the hate induced binge (against Fulmer) and so far disconnected from the real world outside the back door you 1. defend Kiffin, and 2. forget it was Coleman who came in for Crompdaddy against Vandy that game in order to (try) to rationalize and legitimize your irrational hatred of our 2nd greatest coach.
That's impossible. If you feel better about the commitment, that means he was already committed to Kiffin, and they feel better about it, now.
If they felt better about him committing to Dooley, that means he was already committing, and the family didn't feel as good about it.
No, he committed to Dooley. He committed to Dooley because he was more comfortable with him than Kiffin. He never committed to Kiffin. He preferred Dooley.
Find something to proven that he was committed to Kiffin, otherwise accept what can be proven in black and white, continuing to argue otherwise without basis isn't getting anywhere.
At best, was was considering Tennessee with Kiffin, but he was not sold on Tennessee until Dooley came in.
I'll give Rogers to Dooley, no questions asked. Offering Nance is what got Rogers in orange.
Not budging on Hunter, though. Hunter was a Vol in 09, but was keeping it quiet.
Actually, I threw Kiffin a bone trying to keep it from looking as gawd-awful as it is. Once utchavis made his unfortunate statement (trying to beef up the Kiffin numbers) it became academic at that point, even for the candle-lighters.
When yawyaw picked up the phone, they were no longer Kiffin recruits. That I have been generous and still give Kiffin Bray et al was my perogative. That the EEs committed to TN and its traditions best encapsulated by Robert Neyland is exactly the kind of somewhat surrealism we've endured since the Hambone Experiment.
But we know, thanks to your nihilism, what the candle-lighters believe:
Kiffin >> Tennessee >> Neyland.
Thanks for exposing your hand this thread. Maybe you can PM hatvol for the best method of cyberspace hari-kari?
It was mentioned several times Humphries was coming also.
Here's my link from a previous thread.
Hunter is Dooleys guy. The West Coast Weasel can't claim this one.
Ocean Lakes receiver Hunter headed to Tennessee | HamptonRoads.com | PilotOnline.com
Ocean Lakes standout receiver Justin Hunter, who committed to LSU last spring, has de-committed and is headed to Tennessee.
Hunter, 6-foot-4 and 185 pounds, made the decision late Tuesday night, and his coach, Chris Scott, said this decision is final.
Scott also said Hunter got to know new Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley, the former Louisiana Tech coach and son of legendary Georgia coach Vince Dooley.
With the little bit of time hes been able to establish with (coach Dooley), Scott said, he felt a little more comfortable and more trusting with this guy than the other Tennessee staff.

Yeah, but MSG and VW33 said Hunter was a Kiffin silent. I mean who you gonna believe, the kids coach? Or those two paragons of true Volunteer virtue? I mean Duh.![]()

Yes, I realize that I just posted the same idea twice.
Guess again. See the 12/9/09 article on TOS about UT's aggressive effort to get him to keep his commitment to Tennessee after Gran departed; he didn't commit to UCF until after Dooley came in.
Here's a few other guys Kiffin told to "go elsewhere" or lost in 2009:
OL Morgan Moses (starting @ Virginia) Good player
OL Peter White (starting @ Maryland) Listed as a backup on this depth chart Maryland Terrapins 2011 College Football Preview
WR Marlon Brown (starting @ Georgia) 13 career catches in two years
RB Lennon Creer (on RB award lists pre-season)Played two decent teams all year.
DB D.J. Swearinger (starting @ South Carolina) committed to SC before Kiffin was hired
LB Shackleford (starting @ Ole Miss, pre-injury) Solid player
DT Langley (starting @ Texas Tech) six starts and 14 tackles for a TT defense that was 93rd in scoring
I'd prefer any of those over the litter of busts from his 2009 class...
So Kiffin liked him so much, that he didn't even offer him at USC? Is that your compelling logic for why he expressed 0 interest in USC after Kiffin came in there?
