Give Bailey most of the prep work. Start JG the first series. Then bring in Bailey, so he could see a whole series of how Bama's live before actually having to face them. Then you go from there.
1) This approach takes pressure off JG, as he knows he's just kick the game off. Minimizes mental error risk...
2) Bailey gets to see Bama without actually facing them right from the jump.

Our defense can play with their offense for a series or 3.

its the absolute DUMBEST IDEA IN THE WORLD to even play HB vs Bama. with the way the oline has played, no way in hell im playing the guy that is the most talented in the room. the only kind of person that would suggest this is someone who wants to see him fail with hope that maurer still gets a shot

The season is not what we want it to be but it’s time to put on more steam. We have talented kids but we have to stop making it so easy on the other teams.

It’s not a sacrificial mindset, it’s that Bailey has not been prepared at all, doesn’t know the playbook at all. The others had last year to learn it.
Let Bailey play limited snaps and run only a few plays that he has had time to learn.

As if Maurer didn’t face the same last year? BS! Put him in and let’s see who the best guys is! Let’s see if he can top 259 yards and 2 tds vs Alabama.

i noticed u left out "other stats". btw, what were his stats vs both IU and KY, which came afterwards meaning he either got better or worse?

He's had the playbook since January of this year. He's had it for almost 11 months. He's practiced at least 2 weeks in the fall camp. All summer passing camps. And 4 weeks so far this season

Y'all are taking Pruitt's excuses way to strongly. He said the same thing about Maurer for THIS year. Brian Maurer started 4 games LAST YEAR. We run the same offense as last year. So what is he really talking about? Live reps? Well shucks HOW DO YOU GET "LIVE" REPS 🙄...smh....

You just have to let him play ASAP.

Holiday has had no practice at QB at all.

Had Pruitt actually had a QB competition, then Maurer and Bailey could have probably come to accept platooning together...to WIN.
Instead he gave 3/4 of practice snaps to a dead end QB...

You know this would still be the best outcome for the team. Because offensively it would be hard to defend both guys once they get some momentum going

So when will we know for sure if another QB is starting next week?Will it be when the offense goes out for their first drive of the bama game, or will there be any hints from practice this week?

None of us are the coach, and I think HB has the most talent of any of the QBs on the team. However, I do not think he has had time to learn enough of the playbook to start next week, regardless of who we are playing. Give him two more week s of intensive coaching and learning the center and other offensive linemen's habits and abilities. Also, more time will allow him and his receivers to "get in sink" with each other. Don't panic and create more problems in the future.

IF Bailey is what he’s advertised I agree. The one thing that has me concerned is how Bailey did at the opening when the talent was equaled out. If he can prove that was just a fluke I think that would awesome!

Other teams get their backups prepared to play, if Shrout and Maurer aren't good enough to play they should have been told to move on. We have to do better getting qb's prepared that is obvious. We seem to concentrate on the starter and never work on the the backups. Wonder why Hill entered the portal, surely he was capable of moving into the 2nd or 3rd string rotation if shrout or maurer isn't all that. And given that we knew JG's weaknesses why in haiti haven't they been all over Bailey to get into the playbook and learn. I am still all in with Pruitt but our staff has to realize that qb is a important position and you have to find a way to get qb's ready. GBO!!!!!

but there is not much difference in those 2 guys. U dnt have to gameplan for both. Its not like 1 guy is a runner & the other is a pocket passer. Its not like we can complete a pass for more then 5yards anyway. At least u would have a guy who can take off. Imo i start either Maurer or Bailey & give Holiday a package to give defenses a different look. He doesnt have to know the entire offense if u gameplan him into your scheme. At this point im willing to try anybody especially a guy who runs 4.3 in the 40.
