You guys are an interesting bunch. 2 weeks ago it was dark clouds and gloom and doom.
Now it's championships here we come...........over a few coaching changes
I know, I know.............I'm a silly Gator whose jorts are too tight, nobody cares what I say, Florida sucks and Muschamp is insane, etc.........
Not much to do in north Knoxville except ***** and hope Dooley fails. Can you just convert to being a Bama fan alreadyWas this not the only excuse Dooley supporters were clinging on to? This place is anything but stable! There are only a couple coaches from his staff left and they all are leaving during a crucial recruiting time? There are also rumors that Chaney is next. Well at least we still have Terry Joseph..........ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! :mf_surrender:
The negative is you can't go on the recruiting trail and tell kids "Life is good at Tennessee" when all they have to do is look up and see am 11-14 record with Dooley and 5-6 coaches have jumped ship in less than 6 weeks.
I'm trying to figure out how you see those changes as "positive". People might say "well, we improved the staffm, recruiting, etc.........." but it doesn't look that way on the outside. it looks like rats fleeing a ship, even if I don't believe it and that might not be the case.
Your problem here isn't reality, it's perception of the program.

When you finish 5-7 and lose to KY, massive coaching changes are positive. How can you argue that? It seemingly isnt having a drastic impact on recruiting since we are consistantly staying inside the top 20. Yes, we might have a slightly higher ranked recruiting class had these changes not been made but the changes are definately needed. If these changes dont work the next change will be Dooley. All these changes show me that at least we are trying to get out of the mediocrity barrell.

Be careful saying recruiting is good..............I think your class is pretty strong and I was scolded and told by some that your class isn't anywhere good enough to compete in the SEC, that you must finish closer to the top 5, that you have too many 3 star kids "who are only average..........."
I was stunned. your class has a ton of talented kids and some on the recruiting board are acting like the kids picked between Tennessee, Tennessee Tech, and Austin Peay.

A team full of 3 stars is a lot better than what Dooley arrived with. We have a solid base to build on now, lots of 3 and 4 stars. What has happened to UT over the past few years cant be fixed overnight and some people dont get that.

1) it's not jumping ship
2) I personally don't care how you view it. It's not hurting recruiting
Criticism for the Kentucky game? Sure. Criticism for circumstances possibly out of his control the past two seasons? Not quite yet.A team full of 3 stars is a lot better than what Dooley arrived with. We have a solid base to build on now, lots of 3 and 4 stars. What has happened to UT over the past few years cant be fixed overnight and some people dont get that. However, the loss to KY is uneceptable and Dooley deserves every bit of criticism he recieves.
It not hurting recruiting only proves that TN sells itself for a top 25 class every year because of its fan base, tradition, facilities, Neyland Stadium, and etc. So Tennessee alone can bring in top 20 classes every year.
So dont be fooled by dooleys recruiting abilities when he is yet to break the top 10 in recruiting. If he was a great recruiter he would be bringing in top 5 classes.
a top 15 class with players that contribute 3-4 years is better than a top 5 class where very few finish their careers at the school. Also the difference in classes at the top is very smallIt not hurting recruiting only proves that TN sells itself for a top 25 class every year because of its fan base, tradition, facilities, Neyland Stadium, and etc. So Tennessee alone can bring in top 20 classes every year.

The flip side of that is or the program that has played for the most national titles since you were born.......so come here and win us the next one
See how easy that was? You guys really do dismiss the idea of perception amongst recruits.
The last time Tennessee was at the level you guys think they should be every year, the kids you are recruiting now were 8 years old.
