The negative is you can't go on the recruiting trail and tell kids "Life is good at Tennessee" when all they have to do is look up and see am 11-14 record with Dooley and 5-6 coaches have jumped ship in less than 6 weeks.

I'm trying to figure out how you see those changes as "positive". People might say "well, we improved the staffm, recruiting, etc.........." but it doesn't look that way on the outside. it looks like rats fleeing a ship, even if I don't believe it and that might not be the case.

Your problem here isn't reality, it's perception of the program.

Nice comment coming from a Florida fan that is facing the same program. Last time I checked Mustcamp was not impressive their fan base either.

that true...at least our head coach didn't jump ship when he saw our program was having issues...he saw tebow was gone and FL was gonna have a hard time for a couple of years and jumped ship!...Everyone that we lost we have replaced with better Coaches :eek:k:

We've got our share of poor fans, just like every program does. I honestly think that a lot of those who post here are kids. I try to keep that in mind and not be too impatient with them. Most UT fans are behind Dooley and believe that he needs at least another year to see the kind of results we are hoping for.

As for Fulmer, don't forget that he had a huge number of disappointing recruits who never saw the field in those great recruiting classes. He also had 2 losing seasons in his last 4 years as coach. It was time for him to go.

How about FO! The turds have their own set of problems, worry about them! The Vols beat the ---- out of the turds next season, book it b---h!

if FSU gets the ship on track quicker than u..they pull in the best FLA recruits and that may actually happen,,.. the possibility of this is closer than it has been in about 15-20 years

you would think FL schools would have the best Recruits with all them girls wanting to go there for the beaches :good!:

no no no this is junk U need to learn to read with comprehension better or maybe your being a self serving selfish person..either way just stop

The reason the vols have had such a problem the last 2 years are Fulmer's last class recruiting class and and Kiffin's first.. we 1/2 done with these two problems

and it we show as our record improves next year and we finally upset one of our rivals

Let's quit blaming Fulmer, I believe if he was never ran out like this he would have re- tooled & we would have never got in this condition.

The flip side of that is or the program that has played for the most national titles since you were born.......so come here and win us the next one

See how easy that was? You guys really do dismiss the idea of perception amongst recruits.

The last time Tennessee was at the level you guys think they should be every year, the kids you are recruiting now were 8 years old.

Yeah how was your season last year?

What YOU don't understand is, the Gaygotors are a Johnny come lately story....Before the 90's (I remember the 60's, 70's and 80's btw), you were a joke. They had and have NO tradition that speaks to that fact. UT was winning championships and bowl games when you guys were paving your campus providing electric power to it...You may have bought some wins, but you lack tradition, and definitely lack class....as a visit to Gainesville on game day has proven countless times..:bad::bad:

Bless your heart. Here is what 18 year old recruits in the 2012 class realize.

In their lifetime.........Florida has won the SEC 6 times played for the national title 4 times, and won the national title 3 times.

Tennessee has won the SEC 1 time and the national title 1 time and been 5-7 3 of the last 6 years.

Florida has had 2 Heisman winners and Tennessee.......well, let's not bring that tired story up.

I'm sorry, but kids these days do not care what you did in the 60's or 70's.

That's a loser's argument. Kids care about who has been hot in the last 10 years. To them, their lifetime is what defines tradition. You know this, or at least I hope you do.

Florida really struggled in 90's when FSU was rolling along

You guys are an interesting bunch. 2 weeks ago it was dark clouds and gloom and doom.

I know, I know.............I'm a silly Gator whose jorts are too tight, nobody cares what I say, Florida sucks and Muschamp is insane, etc.........
And your point is?

Florida just happens to be in the best state for high school football. It is really as simple as that.

UT has an uphill climb, but I'm much more comfortable now that Urban is at OSU and Florida hired googily eyes.

If the new coaches are getting 2 to 3 year contracts I doubt DD is going anywhere till after 2013. We would have to buy out a lot of coaches contracts including DD, most HC candidates would want to hire their own staff and not be saddled with the assistants. Thats how DD got stuck with Chaney, and it hasn't worked out yet.

Yeah, because when FSU was dominant in the 90's, Florida's program didn't win any games or play for any natioonal titles.

fair point... I guess FSU and the U have to get really good again for this to really happen

And it still won't matter too much. There's enough talent in that state for all 3 to be great. The late 90's early 2000's saw all 3 as nc contenders.

If it is rats fleeing a sinking ship what can they say when they contributed to a 5-6 season?? It just looks bad due to a bad year..At least Dooley is trying to get quality people in their places instead of putting a warm body there...and i'm not a huge Dooley backer but giving him the chance to prove me wrong.
