Stability

The flip side of that is or the program that has played for the most national titles since you were born.......so come here and win us the next one

See how easy that was? You guys really do dismiss the idea of perception amongst recruits.

The last time Tennessee was at the level you guys think they should be every year, the kids you are recruiting now were 8 years old.

I do agree with part of that, but if the Gators don’t turn it around VERY SOON, you will find yourself on the same ship as we are.

Right now the perception is Bama, LSU, and Auburn, ALL THE REST OF US (including Fla) are playing catch up.

We do have father to go that your team, but I believe this year will tell the tell as far as which one begins to head out front of the pack.

I have never been convinced that Georgia can consistently win under Ritch

It will be interesting to see what happens with Chaney. He definitely had wandering eyes, but he seemed to have a lot of input in the new OL hire. I wonder if that will satisfy him for a while. I don't think we will know for certain until the NFL carousel comes to a stop.

Was this not the only excuse Dooley supporters were clinging on to? This place is anything but stable! There are only a couple coaches from his staff left and they all are leaving during a crucial recruiting time? There are also rumors that Chaney is next. Well at least we still have Terry Joseph..........ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! :mf_surrender:

Dear Redneck Assed Disgrace,

If you're mad that all of the UT decorations you purchased in the 1990s and 200s that you've garnished your double wide with, you can always take your redneck ass to the local farmer's market and get some Tide stuff, where you'd fit in with the rest of the fairweather fans.

Sincerely,
A True Volunteer

P.S---Go **** yourself.

Waco - I accept some of your remarks as constructive criticism. Some of them are valid. But this is a Vol message board of fans - what do you expect? Surely you are not coming on here to instruct our posters on how to think? If you are, you have serious control or anger issues.

You will not find me or nearly all of the VN posters on Gator message boards. Maybe a few goofballs do it - like you are coming accross as being. So please leave your condescension out of your remarks and they will go over better if they make sense. If you are seeking info as some of us do, you do not have to post to get it. Just lurk.

As a detached observer I believe Muschamp is either insane or has anger/control issues that need he needs counseling to get over. His coaching is no better than Dooley's - which makes sense as they are good friends and about the same age. Many wanted him to be our HC. Nearly all of us are happy he is not our HC now after seeing the way he acts - just like you are happy Dooley is not your HC. Our program has went through more turmoil than yours in recent years. So it will cause us fans more stress until the ship gets turned in the right direction. But we are talking with our fans as family, of which you are not. That makes you a troll if you act the way you have been acting. That is not a happy thing.

Hey Waco, perception doesn't win a thing. You know what the perception of the Gators is?

I'll tell you. You have a lunatic as a coach who doesn't have a clue how to run a football team, is clueless on offense, and my be just a shade better than Zook!

Our program is doomed.

Looks like if Chaney can get another job he will be next, but I find it interesting that he does not have a lot of takers

I don't think he will have any problem going back to the NFL. The opportunity will be there. Signed Drew Brees.

Meh, I like him. We'll see what happens. he has to be given time to rebuild the program. I say we have to keep him through 2013 at a minimum.

I like Dooley too. That means nothing. Your post sounds all too familiar. We will listen to your tune after next year.

Hopefully it won't have changed,. the only way I see him getting fired is no bowl game and we lose to both UT and UGA, etc..........I just don't see him getting fired.

The negative is you can't go on the recruiting trail and tell kids "Life is good at Tennessee" when all they have to do is look up and see am 11-14 record with Dooley and 5-6 coaches have jumped ship in less than 6 weeks.

I'm trying to figure out how you see those changes as "positive". People might say "well, we improved the staffm, recruiting, etc.........." but it doesn't look that way on the outside. it looks like rats fleeing a ship, even if I don't believe it and that might not be the case.

Your problem here isn't reality, it's perception of the program.

Things are better at Tennessee. We have a much improved coaching staff on the defense and we will hire better coaches to replace the vacant positions. The offense coaching is better with the addition of the new RB and OL coaches. We have experienced players coming back but have a few holes which the recruits can fill. We are in a much better position to talk to recruits than we were three weeks ago. In fact Tennessee's future looks brighter than Florida's at this point because of our Head coach vs yours.

You guys are an interesting bunch. 2 weeks ago it was dark clouds and gloom and doom.

Now it's championships here we come...........over a few coaching changes

I know, I know.............I'm a silly Gator whose jorts are too tight, nobody cares what I say, Florida sucks and Muschamp is insane, etc.........

Understanding that you have problems is half the battle...your last paragraph shows that you finally realize at least some of your issues! :)

VN is definitely schizophrenic and bipolar at the same time haha
Maybe we can issue aluminum foil helmets with a power T on the side to new members?

It's true. A point that negavols fail to realize---is that perception of HC impacts the program significantly. If a fan base believes a coach is soon to be ousted, the recruits will pick up on it and steer away from said programs, essentially making a coach on a hot-seat, a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Anyways, in reply to the general sentiment of the topic, the fact that nothing terrible is coming out of these changes signifies that overall stability resides chiefly with the head coach and the players themselves. Hell, Dooley has been quoted in the past saying staff turnover is healthy since other programs will want you if you're doing something right.

I see the diagnosis of major depression severe, recurrent. Though the recent mood swing over the hiring of Bama's LB coach is noted.

Perception matters to recruits and we seem to be holding it together very well on the recruiting end. I don't think any kid coming here thinks he is walking into a blissful environment where everything is tried and true and just peachy. That is fine with me, we need kids with heart and who want to be part of the challenge we face in regaining our foothold on the top of the SEC.

As far as "upgrades" go, honestly we will simply have to see how it all comes together on the field. I do think we are making good changes, but someone has to put it all together on the field to be sure.

You use that term Rebuild kinda lightly there Waco...

You former Coach does not have the same thoughts on your present roster.... he said you should win a championship

YOUR FORMER COACH NOT YOU FORMER COACH

This is a pointless thread. It doesn't matter who is right or wrong on all this stuff. The bottom line is the first game is against NC State in Atlanta and then we will see the "state of the program".

Depends on the recruit. I think that it did sway Autry and Jacobs. I'm convinced that most recruits couldn't tell the difference between Sunseri and Wilcox unless they were already recruited by either.
