Majors was a good coach during that time period, but when the game changed, he couldn't keep up. Look at what Fulmer did with Major's recruits in his first year as HC.
Holding on to some antiquated idea that a coach needs 16 years to show off his coaching ability before he can be held accountable for the product on the field is ridiculous.
CBJ is paid $4 million dollars a year to recruit the players, hire the coaches, coach up talent, and make game day decisions that put the team in the best possible position to win. He's not up to snuff on some of his job duties, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with calling him out on them.
Many D1 teams put freshmen on the field and they have an immediate impact. Some players develop quickly, some have the God given ability from day 1. But the idea of we're to young has been spoon fed to us for far to long! CBJ downfall will be the positional coaches.
