Some of you so-called "fans" on here..........

This is true of every sports team at every level. If UMass were to put it all together and have a boss offense, defense, and special teams they could beat anyone.

We have the talent, experience, and depth that 90% of teams don't have to put it all together. So I have to disagree with your statement.

I'am like you, been a Vol fan a long time (long before John Ward, around 1950). Still takes me days to get over a loss. Well remember the first time we ran the "T" formation. Did try to play a little in high school. BUT it doesn't take an expert to see that our O line just doesn't seem to be able to block, and as always if they can't, we are toast.

Four touchdowns in one game?

Don't mind some of the Negas. You need both Negas and pumpers to have a good discussion. My opinion is you don't need to fill every thread with ludacris theories just because you don't like coach, backup MLB, or the offensive system. Some on here never post anything to do with actual football or X's and O's just negativity. Truth is most if those people don't have a clue about football and just do it to read their own words. GBO

First off to the OP. I've done this rant before, trust me it don't work. I love your positive enthusiasm to the team though! It's just that negavoling is an entrenched and longstanding and TBH deserved attitude from this fan base at this point. You can't call anyone out for not being a real fan because anybody who has stuck it out this long is a real fan. Some are just more fanatical than others.

I think people need to listen to the coaches more. It's funny that the guys who watch the most ball are the most blind to what is happening.

90% of the people complaining when we're at 2-0 I would wager are under the age of say 28.

Even if that were true, how would it be relevant?

Does it take someone over the age of 28 to really understand the reasons why we went into the 4th quarter down 13-6 against a sunbelt team? If that's the case it's not 100% because it's still lost on me, and I'm considerably older than 28.

are making me seriously consider not coming back to VolNation. True, we have not looked like world-beaters the first 2 games and I am as disappointed as anyone. But some of you "fans" continue to bash the coaches and players on a daily basis. If you know so freaking much about football, then I encourage you to send Dave Hart your resume immediately....and we all will sit back and watch how its done.

I have been a Vol fan for a long time having grown up in KnoxVegas listening to John Ward's play by play on the radio before many games were on TV. As a student, I rarely missed a game. At the end of the day, I support the Vols 100%...win, lose, or draw. It pisses me off to read some of the sheet some of you post bashing the team, players, and coaches.

Fact is, most of you (me included) never played a freaking down of organized football. But I love the game and I love my Vols. So unless you can become Head Coach, OC, DC, etc and make the team better STHU and support OUR team. I would rather be an 8-4 Vol than a 12-0 Gator, Bulldog, or Bammer any day of the week!

Now lets kick some Bobcat @$$ and then worry about the Lizards. GBO!!
I support the team and will say whatever I like until Freak says different. If you don't like some of the comments then don't read them. If you don't like the freedom we have here to discuss Vol football then you should probably take your fragile emotions somewhere else.

But YOU don't get to define who is or is not a true fan.

Like most on here, you missed the OP's point! It's called being a Vol fan. Win, lose or tie some want to support our team, no matter what!

Pretty much everyone here does that. Some just do it in ways that others do not have the emotional toughness to deal with.

Too much good info on VN to let a few clowns ruin it for you.

You can still support the Vols, and be critical of the coaching staff's ability and choices at the same time. The program is bigger than CBJ's inferior offensive coaching hires.

No worries Fade...she passed away 3 years ago. Cancer analogies aren't my favorite.

So sorry to hear. Cancer is just the worst, I have lost loved ones from it as well, but can't imagine losing your wife. Sometimes it's easy to forget that were all not just a bunch of avatars with opinions, but real people who experience real life.

This was the year this team was supposed to play on a championship level. So far, they haven't done that. The fan base is justified in its frustrations.

Butchna, cancer analogies aren't my favorite either. Mr. Peach is a cancer survivor. Some people have no regard for saying things that hit home for others... Please know, Butchna, that horrible disease has taken several loved ones from each of us.. Hugs to you, my friend!!

I love the Vols and have been a fan for almost 50 years. Seen the best and seen the worst.

However, just because I have the right to exercise my opinion does not mean I don't love the Vols. I love them greatly but I do get very discouraged and will criticize when I see something looks very wrong (such as the lack of progress from our WR, our lack of progress or enthusiasm of our OL, some of the most horrendous coaching decisions last year that I just could not fathom from a D-1 head coach, etc).

If I weren't a patient person, I could not have sanely survived these last 8-10 years!!

Go VOLS!!!

Year 4 under CBJ, 17 returning starters, and we should have expected to be trailing App State going into the 4th quarter? That's the level of preparation you expect out of the coaching staff?

Did you argue against Dooley being fired as well?
