I'm not the one touting the notion that the passerby stopped more slaughter. You are. The burden is on you, not me.
How do you know? What evidence do you have that he was going to go on to some other location and shoot other people? What evidence do you have that he could have done so?
That's one of two comments. Stop excusing his misbehavior.
Glorifying guns is a huge part of what got us into the mess we are in now. Pardon me if I'm going to hold people who make such claims accountable for proving them.
I don't know what you got all bent out of shape over.
It looked like nothing more than a facetious comment to ruffle some feathers.
Even if you don't agree with the above, it's the politics forum and people make all sorts of things political. Hell, look at LG right now. You could stay busy chiding him all afternoon.
I think it's glorifying the shooter as well, the media outlets scramble to find out and publish as much as they can, as fast as they can.
I think it's plausible that part of the losers mentality is to go out as famous. To be remembered. All the media outlets are happy to oblige.
It's disgusting that the media focuses almost entirely on the shooter and rarely gives time to their victims.

Texas authorities referring to the person as a hero - you see the person as the problem
you remind us daily
Of course law enforcement in Texas will call him a hero. That is a reflection of their political situation. They promote open carry and easy access to guns.
He's not a problem. But it's quite a leap to say he saved lives. That's just pure speculation, with no evidence to back it up.
That's all we need. A bunch of gun happy vigilantes out there firing in God knows what situation, creating massive risk for others, to be a hero.
