SEC Tournament Seeding

Watching Arkansas and I didn’t realize how many times they travel with the ball. They get away with walking almost every single possession. Especially Notae

They get away with a lot for some reason. Seems like they just push the limit on a lot of things with the assumption they won’t call everything

Doesn't the #3 seed play the late game Friday night? Want to avoid that if possible

Yes, the 2 and 3 seeds play the later games at 6 pm and 8 pm, respectively. 1 and 4 seeds play the earlier games in the quarterfinals at 12 pm and 2 pm.

5-9 are hard to predict at the moment. If there is in fact a 5 way tie for 5th which is if the favorites won in the remaining games, LSU would own that tie-breaker and be the 5th seed. However that's based on descrete outcomes. If you consider they only have a 67% chance to win against Bama, they could also be the 9th seed if they lose. And based on the other teams remaining games, those are the two most likely seeds for LSU, 9th or 5th.

Alabama most likely going to be 5-6. So as long as we take care of business on Saturday we probably won't have to face them.

Good news is that South Carolina is looking prime for the 7th seed under most scenarios.

Imagine if our path to the SECT finals was to beat South Carolina/Florida and Arkansas on a neutral floor? Easily my dream scenario and one that is not unrealistic and could happen. Again….GO GATA!

Using discrete outcomes (favorite win), LSU, Alabama, and Florida change positions based on the tie breaker

One reason among many that winning on Saturday is huge for us, it would likely mean not having to play Bama/LSU who are both dangerous team's I'd like to avoid. Raises our odds of advancing in the tournament. In fact, this shows up in TR's odds. We have a higher change of winning as a 2 seed because of S Carolina and Miss State projected 7/10.

I kind of want to play Miss St so we get to see a replay of what happened last time we played them in the SECT:

Yep. It really would be an ideal situation. Arkansas is good, but I like our chances against them both this weekend and on a neutral floor when the Bud Walton Zebras aren’t around. I’m not too high on Florida’s chances to beat Kentucky, but they are a desperate team who needs another big win to bolster their NCAA odds and they did beat Auburn at home so that’s not something to overlook if I’m Kentucky.

It may not seem like it but Arkansas actually gets a similar whistle on the road vs. at home. The thing about SEC refs is they're just so inconsistent. Traveling is never called, sometimes the same exact charging call is a block, they let you tackle people one half then the next half you can barely touch them, and guys like Tshiebwe can camp out in the paint for 2 minutes without a 3 second call. It is frustrating sometimes having your fate left up to the officials.

Seeing that live was a thing of beauty. Then the next day... top 10 moment in my life for sure. I don't think I'll ever watch a game that intense live. Coming back and beating UK was so insane and I still can't believe it happened! That weekend is what sold my wife on being a Vol fan.
