SEC Tournament Seeding

So win Saturday and most likely 7/10 matchups in order are…

South Carolina/Mississippi State
Florida/A&M
South Carolina/Mississippi State
LSU/Mississippi State
Mississippi State/A&M
South Carolina/A&M
South Carolina/Mississippi State
Texas A&M/Mississippi State

~92% chance it would be one of these if we win Saturday.

It may not seem like it but Arkansas actually gets a similar whistle on the road vs. at home. The thing about SEC refs is they're just so inconsistent. Traveling is never called, sometimes the same exact charging call is a block, they let you tackle people one half then the next half you can barely touch them, and guys like Tshiebwe can camp out in the paint for 2 minutes without a 3 second call. It is frustrating sometimes having your fate left up to the officials.

This isn't accurate. In conference play Arkansas's median foul differential on the road is 0. At home they have a median differential +6 fouls to their favor. DId you make this graph?

Win Saturday & they are 1( if AU loses) or a two. Lose and it’s either 4 (if Ky wins) or 3 (if Ky loses).

Due to Vols win over Auburn, they hold the tiebreaker with Aub & Ky.

Look like if all three teams win SC is the seventh seed. Of course if Sc loses they could drop further or still be seventh. Miss St and Texas A&M could decide the 9 and 10 game but still with three teams at 9 and 8 and three at 8 and 9 just to much that can happen. Of course we have to win to be the two seed and a loss would probably push us to four. Saturday is a huge day for a lot of teams.

A 'Cocks win Saturday would be huge for their NCAA Tournament chances and could lead to Vols SEC Championship. Doubt it, happens. But it would be beautiful. Plus, I've always liked Frank Martin, he can coach and motivate

yeah this is why TR gives us a higher win probability being a 2 seed than any other. Because USC has good odds of being the 7

Whoever made this got their data points inverted. Arkansas has the largest home foul differential in the SEC

Well, when they have a “charge counter” that counts the number of charges Williams has this year, that’s all he’s gonna do and keeps getting rewarded for sliding under shooters after they’re already in the air. I wonder what these stats would look like if they didn’t get gifted those horrendous charge calls?

LSU down there because they just foul the **** out of everyone no matter where they play
Yeah, watching their game last night, they just hack the crap out of everyone on every play. Yes, the refs did their usual "Jaylin Williams fell down so we'll call it a charge" routine, but they literally could call fouls on multiple LSU players on every single possession. And not like ticky tack fouls either. It's crazy.

Really funny how an Arkansas fan comes on here to try to tell us Arkansas doesn’t get a friendly whistle in Bud Walton! Ha ha ha ha ha ha

If you put together the charge calls in just the UT game and last night’s LSU game, it’s about a season’s worth of poor calls. It is outrageous how awful those calls were.

The top half of teams in terms of home court foul advantage in SEC play
1. Alabama
2. Arkansas
3. Tennesssee
4. Kentucky
5. Vanderbilt
6. Auburn
7. LSU

Ole miss is the only team who has a worse differential at home than on the road. No wonder Kermit is always so angry

Does anybody know for sure if this was or was not the same crew we had for Auburn?

Color me shocked we have a bigger advantage than Kentucky with the Rupparees.

Lol wasn't trying to say that Arkansas doesn't (most home teams in the SEC do) but Arkansas leads the SEC in free throw attempts and makes while not all of the games are at home so just the way Arkansas plays is a factor as well. It surprises me that Alabama is so high when they shoot so many threes though. The original graph was from some basketball statistician on Twitter but it was from 3 weeks ago.

There aren’t any set crews as they all rotate each game. But Pat Adams and Owen Shortt both did our Auburn game and last night’s LSU/Arkansas game.

Neither did our first game against Arkansas.
Tony Greene was a part of that game. Adams and Greene have been bad for years, but others are making a run at them.

The graph was incorrect. Not surprising it was a "statistician" in Alabama which is anyone who can count to 10. Arkansas has the largest home foul descrepancy in the SEC. They also have the largest Home vs Away Free Throw Rate (FTA/FGA) difference in the SEC. Basically anyway you slice it Arkansas gets a signficiant benefit from the stripes in Bud Walton
