RW headed back to UT

C'mon that hasn't stopped him before.

You're right. He's probably looking in his thesaurus as we speak to fill his next post with big words to make himself feel smarter and try to make other people look ignorant

Saw every home game he played at UT. Up to the LSU game in '83, he was an inconsistent, talented goldbricker.

Ripped his ankle up in '82....dominant from the first game in '83....shoulda been around then and you'd know...

Sounds like Haynesworth. Didn't know Reggie was like that, he was there just before I moved to Knoxville and became a Volfan. I had never heard anything derogotory about Reggie before this.

Reggie was in the backfield every play. The most dominant defensive lineman I have ever seen.

Jiminy Christmas I just want to know who RW is! Reggie White was far from a bigot. I attended "Camp of Champions"... Devoe's camp for several summers...We stayed in a dorm within presidential courtyard during those camps and ate lunch in a dinning hall there. I must have been ~ 10 years old at that time. Anyway everyday after lunch my friend and I (2 spoiled white kid’s fwisw) would run into Reggie after we ate, always sitting on the same bench, and he never was anything but kind. He went out of his way to talk to us as I did not know him from Adam. I remember he would let us take a running start and punch him in the stomach as hard as we could...then he would laugh and laugh ...very fond memories. I do not know who pissed in your wheaties Hat, but give it a rest because you’re displaying nothing but ignorance in this post. Reggie was and always will be nothing but vanilla, pure butter man. You realize that people whose perspective is as negative as yours seems to die at a significantly younger age then those whose outlook is more positive. No **** not being funny. You can either find everything that is wrong bout the world or not your choice. I understand that you think you are being a realist, but you’re really being a pessimist... think about it. Last time I will ever respond to you, but you often set the tone in many threads and to be honest that negative tone is why I avoid almost every thread. We are trying to do the best we can and consistent persistent negativity is less than helpful. Find a dog to kick!

Listen to the speech before the Wisconsin legislature and tell me who he misses with some form of idiocy. Oh, wait. That would require you to actually do some research and know what you are talking about. I'm sure that's not your style.

Polynesians/Pacific Islanders... (and no they are not Asians - neither are Koreans apparently)

Why? Are you a fan of guys who malinger for three and a half seasons, then bust their ass when it's cash drive time?

Lol, Hat doesn't seem to care for Reggie White. The funny thing is I'm not even surprised. I would probably be shocked if he did like him.

I didn't find his comments on other races offensive, at all. Some are actually somewhat humorous. He did, in fact, spend a large part of his time summarizing the crime and imprisonment rates of black men.

The man was a devout Christian and spoke on the teachings of the Bible, which he held as Truth. Unfortunately, his view on homosexuality will not sit well with some, but that doesn't make it wrong.

My guess is that he did more good for the underserved and underclassed citizens of our country than 99.9% of the population will ever do.

RIP, Reggie. Can't wait to meet you one day.

This + 1 and a heavenly chorus.

40. My father used to tell me stories about Widby til my ears bled. To hear him tell it, Widby was Bobby Jones, Ray Guy, and Jerry West rolled into one.

So am I, which is why I don't understand how you can judge so often about people or times you never met or were old enough to remember. Reggie White was a freshman when you were 11, so your judgement of his play is from something someone told you, and it was negative, so it stuck with you. You didn't know him, so you judge him by a speech to some legislature that came up first on his wiki page. And at 40, you gotta get rid of the avatar of the 18 yr old girl. It's inappropriate.

Rocker- I'd retire first. It's the most hectic, nerve-racking city. Imagine having to take the 7 train to the ballpark looking like you're riding through Beirut next to some kid with purple hair, next to some queer with AIDS, right next to some dude who just got out of jail for the fourth time, right next to some 20-year-old mom with four kids. It's depressing... The biggest thing I don't like about New York are the foreigners. You can walk an entire block in Times Square and not hear anybody speaking English. Asians and Koreans and Vietnamese and Indians and Russians and Spanish people and everything up there. How the hell did they get in this country?

White- Well, it's interesting to me to know why now. When you look at the black race, black people are very gifted in what we call worship and celebration. A lot of us like to dance, and if you go to black churches, you see people jumping up and down, because they really get into it.

White people were blessed with the gift of structure and organization. You guys do a good job of building businesses and things of that nature and you know how to tap into money pretty much better than a lot of people do around the world.

Hispanics are gifted in family structure. You can see a Hispanic person and they can put 20 or 30 people in one home. They were gifted in the family structure.

When you look at the Asians, the Asian is very gifted in creation, creativity and inventions. If you go to Japan or any Asian country, they can turn a television into a watch. They're very creative. And you look at the Indians, they have been very gifted in the spirituality.

When you put all of that together, guess what it makes. It forms a complete image of god. God made us different because he was trying to create himself. He was trying to form himself, and then we got kind of knuckleheaded and kind of pushed everything aside.

You're making an assumption that I never had any dealings with Reggie White. That's a mistake on your part.

Also, I bet Kate Beckinsale would be flattered that you think she could pass for 18.

You're right. I should go for something mature like a Masters hat and a mug of beer. Nothing says maturity like an avatar suitable for any frat douche in America.

Reggie White's inconsistencies were mainly due to his injuries up until his senior season.

Remind us again what sport you played in college, how many letters you received and your stats. Thanks

Excellent point. I must have lost my mind. Why would I judge someone by their own words? Insanity. Also, why would anyone need to look up Reggie White's speech? It was kind of big news when it happened. Made all the papers and such.

I love it when golfers try to act like athletes. It's so cute.

It's fun watching someone who so badly wants me to see what they're saying post over and over again. Rat on a wheel.

UT needs to get some new sacred cows. Goring the same ones over and over is becoming tiresome. I'm actually bored enough now that I care whether or not Rod Wilks is returning to school.
