RW headed back to UT

Why would I need ESPN to remember games I attended and saw White limping around while, for example, Auburn walked up and down the field in '83? ...

He was ineffective against wishbone teams, nobody will argue against that. I don't think it is fair to look past his excellent sophomore season though because of a poor, injury plagued junior campaign.

Reggie was dominant in 1981.

I really should spend some more time in the football forums, this is grade A stuff.

This hat guy is like Skip Bayliss on HGH. He just likes to take crazy positions to make sure everybody will want to debate with him and give him attention. I do have to give him credit though, this is the first time I've ever read more than two pages on one of these threads without it losing my attention. I don't agree with him but he's entertaining I guess. And I did meet Reggie a handful of times and he was always incredibly nice. Also just wanted to point out hat complaining about someone being bigoted then labeling people from Chattanooga as crappanoogans is hilarious.

Go Big Orange

Most people who follow this board would know that it's Rod Wilks. Rod Wilks is the most frequently discussed player with those initials. The dead giveaway is the thread creator is the guy who started the whole rod wilks thing.

I agree mostly. I always find his posts enjoyable even if I disagree with him. I think he has a point here, especially about the speech, but I don't have a judgment on the charges of underachievement.

Our basketball team would be terrible of woolridge didn't come back!!

Rod Wilks headed back to UT per his face book account. It had been rumored he may transfer to receive more playing time to MTSU, etc. Just to clear the confusion. :hi:

I know nothing about this. Could you possibly give me a link or a good phrase to google? Wouldn't mind learning something about his life

Any Cobb biography. He was a bigoted piece of garbage.

Ty Cobb - It's a good biography by Charles Alexander. He was an unappologetic bigot, violent and might have even been a killer but was one Hell of a ball player. He was lot more complex than what you're lead to believe if you all you know about him was his stats and stories related to baseball. The book also gives you insight into a lot of other legendary ball players. Like everything else in life, it's available on Amazon.

Ian (San Diego): In your mind, who was the most dominant defensive lineman to play for the Vols during your time calling games?
John Ward: Reggie White. Although, there have been a lot of great ones. He was special as both a player and a person. I would speak in Chattanooga for years at university functions, and his mother always came and never booed me.

I'll take John's word for it.

Reggie is still our all-time sack leader, though he played in an era with much less passing. They double and triple teamed him and he still spent most of the time in the backfield. He was as dominant as any defensive lineman I've ever seen. What he did in the pros was a continuation of what he did in college, only in the pros he had teammates who had to be blocked as well.
