I am not convinced we are that good. KY OL is good and I think we struggle to stop the running game. Our secondary has not played particularly well and they have just enough of a passing game to give us a hard time. Hate to say it but KY 27 Vols 20.
They really have no passing game. Wilson was 8-20 for 73 yards last week.

Only wild card that concerns me this week is Gatewood. Was Stoops saving him for our game, thinking he could beat both Miss schools without him, so we wouldn’t have any film of him in their offense and how they use him?

Overthinking imo.

But yes their wr last year or gatewood running in circles would be better than Terry "burn status" Wilson.

We are the same team we were before UGA.

Did you not think we were that good then?

KY does have a potent rushing game.

But they’re passing game is not good. Wouldn’t say they have enough to give anyone a hard time in the passing game:

-through 3 games, they avg 154.33 yds/game
-they’ve thrown 2 TDs and 1 INT

Change the QB, change the trajectory of the program. Not our decision - it's Jeremy's. Until he does, don't take the program all that seriously and you will not be as disappointed when second halves like happened at UGA occur. Add in that other than a couple of good passes in the first half, there was no real O. Enjoy that there is football in this mess of a year and be happy with 5-5 or better. Just know you are one season closer to JG running out of eligibility.

Believe it or not, you can win a lot of games by having a great O and a mediocre D. Bama's been doing it for 3 seasons now. UF does it frequently.
Last year the QB was changed and the same results came from Brian Maurer against UGA. Just saying. Although I would like to see a different QB..... because JG isn’t it, who do we go to.....

When is the last time KY won a game in Neyland?

Their run game isn't all that - their stats are skewed by the Ole Miss game:

And EVERYONE rushes for ~7 ypc vs Ole Miss:

We couldn't stop their running game last season between the 20s, but our D stiffened in the RZ, and just as importantly, our secondary did not allow UK to break any long runs for a TD, other than the 22 yd TD run after our punter muffed the punt. While good, I don't think that running game is as good this season as last as Wilson is not the athlete Bowden was, and not much better of a passer.

JG shredded UK in the 2nd half last season, and played well enough to beat UK 2 seasons ago. JG has had no TOs this season other than the UGA game, and I don't expect UK to be able to put that kind of pass rush on our offense, considering they only have 5 sacks in 3 games to date.

I can't see UK scoring 27 points on our defense, again assuming our offense doesn't set them up. They only exceeded that point total once this season and that was against OM, who arguably has the worst defense in the SEC this season, although LSU has certainly challenged that. Bottom line, if UT limits mistakes, there is no reason they shouldn't win this game.

UK tries to replicate UGA's 2nd half D game plan. Doesn't work.

JG goes off for 225+ and 3 TD's.

Shrout gets the nod middle of the 3rd for mop-up duty.
Yeah uga knew we couldn't run on them after the first half. All they had to do was shut down the outside, Palmer and not get beat by him and jg. UK won't have anywhere near that luxury. Think the ol comes out angry and we run like we did vs Mizzou and we have a balanced attack once again. Nobody will make us 1 dimensional like that again this season.

If our OL has any pride they’ll come out angry and dominant. I have a hunch they do
