This is pertinent to the Minnesota Vikings message board being shut down...due to frak over Adrian Peterson being reinstated...ostensibly by a rogue mod (changed the wifi password?)....another mod notified the Associated Press that this wasn't a universal decision but that's boring...my question: what thread could accomplish what the Gruden and Torrance Gibson threads failed at...destroying that which Freak built?

Most likely it will occur when Saban goes to Slive and demands that he shut VN down because it is having a detrimental effect on Bammers recruiting. Slive will file a $1 billion lawsuit against VN because the Conference can't have Bammer hurt and upset. JMO FWIW

Pretty much the same boat I'm in. We've been dating for over a year (known each other for many more), and it's clear to me we love each other. She was actually the first one to jokingly bring it up just a couple weeks ago and I tried to play it off. I'm still in school and she is too, but my heart says yes. I think I'll talk to her parents in a little bit about it. Scary but exciting times for me. Hope it all goes well.

Best of luck to you vol knight.

Well she said yes. I nearly died on the spot from happiness. :thud:

I figure we can start here

Doesn't Dave know he's not supposed to wear white after Labor Day??

Thanks for the tip! I've got three cousins that are either currently attending UT or did in the past, hopefully they'll guide me in the right direction. I've heard to try Calhouns as well?

Meh. Its nice to drink/eat on the river, but there's better food around downtown.

I have to disagree, unless you're going specifically for steak. Calhouns is one of the best all around restaurants I've been to. Fresh ingredients, decent prices, and everything on the menu is really good.

And the ribs are top 5 I've ever had. If you go to Knoxville and can only go to one place, unless you are definitely getting steak, go to calhouns.

Fair enough. I don't think it's bad by any stretch (and it is a good place to take out of town guests, just to see the river, etc), just places I like better downtown.

It's sad that a chain restaurant has ribs in your top 5. :( Must not have had a lot of great ribs out there in the world, man. I feel sorry for you. Overall, the experience is pleasant there and the food isn't terrible. It isn't top 5 good though, IMO, JMO, TIFWIW.

I don't think you have the definition of chain correct. You can have more than one location and not be a chain. Calhouns/Copper Cellar is local to TN, so I wouldn't classify them as a chain.

And I've been to the "best" rib places all over the country. Dallas, Memphis STL, KC. Calhouns is up there, IMO, at least

No offense meant Jave....just my opinion. Maybe I went there on bad rib nights? And technically you are sort of right. They do have 8 different locations, which is why I referred to it as a chain. But they are all in close proximity to Knoxville.

No offense taken, or intended. Calhouns definitely needs to work on consistency. Some nights they're world class, others, not so much. I waited tables there in college, so I may also be a little biased.

Give them another try some time, at the Bearden Hill or River location. At their best, they are incredible. I'd take them over Rendezvous and on par with Central, personally.

I've had Calhoun's food at the River, Bearden Hill, and West Knox/Farragut locations and I think it's pretty mediocre. It's ok, but would never be my go to place.

Agreed, it's very average IMO. Good food, nice atmosphere, but nothing to go crazy over. And I also disagree on the top 5 ribs.

Maybe they've gone down in the 5 years since I've had them? Otherwise you guys are crazy on rib opinions. Who do you have above them?
