Maybe they've gone down in the 5 years since I've had them? Otherwise you guys are crazy on rib opinions. Who do you have above them?

I like them. I only order two things there. When I'm feeling the urge to put some serious meat away, full rack. Most times, I get the meat salad. I think it's called the smokehouse or somesuch, but it's half meat/cheese, half lettuce. It's terrible for you, but is the best tasting salad I've ever had.

The ribs are good, as good as pork ribs get, but I'm not big on pig ribs compared to that cro-magnum feast that is a whole rack of beef ribs. Texas and KC got those, and all my top 5 rib joints are there.

Oh gosh, I agree calhouns is about as good as pork ribs get, but I don't like beef ribs. Baby back is the only way to go. STL had some decent beef ribs, and one place in Dallas, but all myfavorites are baby back.

I really like those BBQ potato skin appetizers that Calhouns has, they are kinda sorta perfect. Beside that they have a nice atmosphere and pretty good food.

An absolutely fantastic place to eat in the Knoxville area is The Lakeside Tavern. Great food, awesome environment, and I had the best service there I've had my entire life.

Okay y'all all need to drop what you are doing and answer this question:

What are some great restaurants in the Knoxville area for a date that aren't Ye Old Steakhouse, Calhouns, Tupelo Honeys, Cafe 4. Need to know for tonight!

Cheddar's is a good place, I like Rafferty's, Cheesecake Factory out by WestTown if you are wanting to pay, Brazzerios (if that's how you spell it), they have a P.F. Changs out there too.

Naples or Altrudas are good change of pace Italian.

Peddler if you're willing to go up to Gatlinburg.

Golden Garden is a nice hidden Chinese joint. Off of Western.

Melting pot is great for a date good atmosphere, interactive eating, good food, and it takes a while to eat there, so you can have good conversation and 1on 1 time. It's a bit expensive, but if I wanted to make an impression on a girl, I'd take her there and I'd happen to mention that I thought it'd be good for a date so we could talk. Chicks eat that up!

@AdamSchefter: Such sad news: former Titans K Rob Bironas, who married Terry Bradshaw's daughter in June, was killed in a car crash Saturday. He was 36.

Whoa.... Prayers to his family

Driving at a high rate of speed on Battery Lane in Nashville is very dangerous. Jr really liked Bironas. He hated when he got cut. Bironas tweeted back at Jr last year after Jr made a comment about "still the best". Horrible story. Dreading when Jr wakes up.

Wow. I always hated that the Titans cut him. Such a tragedy. Prayers sent to his family.

Just was thinking about what happened to him the other day. That sucks. Prayers for that family.

He'd still be alive and in Cincinnati if he weren't cut. Sad how things line up like that. I had a friend that worked with the titans a little bit said he was the nicest, most humble and sincere of all the players at the time (a few years ago). He'll be missed.

I don't know, if your time is up...it's up.

Maybe it would've been tomorrow night instead of last night. But, he damned sure wouldn't have been 0-2 on 45 yd fg attempts.

He was one of my faves but I was fine with them moving on. He was slipping on KOs and was way too expensive for a kicker.

I was really hoping he'd retire to Nashville and get a radio spot or something.

Something random...

I enjoyed the hell out of watching that Onieda/Greenback game last week. It was nice to see two small town teams play a good game.

A lot of the time I can hardly watch high school football any more. It seems like "sports parents", goofy transfer rules, and various private schools siphoning off local talent have really jaded the way I look at it.

I really enjoyed that game.

I don't enjoy high school much. Of course there aren't a ton of good schools around lexington, but I did go over and see Damien Harris, number one back in 2016 class run over my old school.
