I'm just mourning the fact that I'm still going to have to listen/read soccer discussions despite the fact that we've been eliminated.

I'll still take Kate Upton though.

Just for you buddy, I'll step up my soccer discussions. Then you'll be forced with ignoring me and avoiding the soccer, but then losing out on Kate Upton or seeing the soccer and keeping Kate Upton. I do not envy your position. :hi:

So what does the USMNT look like in 2018?

Like I said, I'm a degenerate and will watch the friendlies that play out the rest of this year, next years Gold Cup, etc.

But who comes in and who leaves over the next 4 years?

I'd have to think Howard finally fades and Guzan takes over.

Dempsey will be 35 so...who knows.

The only thing I can really be sure is Beasley will finally take a seat, God love him.

Am I crazy for thinking this team had some decent young talent on it?

Players unlikely to be on the next World Cup team:
Howard, Dempsey, Beasley, Beckerman, Jones, Zusi

Players likely to have a bigger role:
Green, Mix, Yedlin, Johannson

Player to watch: Gedion Zelalem (Arsenal youth player who could play for the US.)

Projected starting lineup: (obviously subject to change in 4 years)

Guzan
Yedlin, Gonzalez, Besler, Johnson
Cameron, Bradley
Johannson, Mix, Green
Jozy

I ignore nobody! I just scroll past quickly...

I became much more enthralled with soccer than I would have anticipated, so what are some club teams I should look into watching?

Let me preface, I'm not a fan of jumping on a bandwagon of the incredibly loaded teams.

I like the potential in that lineup. After some time to mesh that back line could be strong with tons of speed on the outside. We desperately need to get better in the midfield though. Hopefully Bradley can actually perform consistently on the biggest stage next time around. With that projected lineup, I would have to call him and Cameron the weak link based on what I saw this World Cup.

In the MLS I'm a big fan of the Seattle Sounders. They have (by a fair margin IMO) the craziest and most passionate fanbase in the league. They routinely sell out CenturyLink Field where the Seahawks play. In the English Premier League I'm pretty neutral and honestly I started pulling for players more than a specific club, as that is the first soccer I really got into. I think the MLS will continue to grow and I'm excited about that.

After watching some videos, I definitely like a bunch of individual players. I like Paul Pogba's game.

Yedlin plays for Seattle, right?

Warren Sapp didn't leave a tip at a restaurant because the waitress called him and his crew boys.
How do you guys feel about tipping bad service?

If the service sucks, I won't tip at all.

Yeah Yedlin plays for Seattle. So does Clint Dempsey and Brad Evans(whom almost qualified for the USMNT for the WC and has had several USMNT appearances.)

I'm a server, so you're going to get aggressively biased answers out of me.

I gotcha. I hope it becomes more popular sooner; I would like to get into it.

I did it for 6 years. You can tell a lot of times if the experience sucks or not because of your server. If it's obvious that the server doesn't give a crap, I'll still tip something but it won't be a lot. If it isn't the server's fault and they are trying to appease you as best they can, I'll still tip that person at least 20%. Good service beginning to end gets more.

Well we don't have a very local team to give our allegiance to. They play the Sounders on TV a good bit, and there are ways to catch games online and such too. There are decent rivalries already in the MLS too, Seattle and Portland Timbers really don't like each other. It also helps I have a close friend who is originally from Seattle that is a huge Sounders fan and he turned me onto them.

I will never stiff anyone, unless they offend me or the people I'm with.

You're taking up their table for a certain amount of time. That is money that the server could be making with another table. If you get everything you need and the server does it without offensive body language or offensive language, you should leave something.

I generally don't even notice my paychecks, so the money I get in tips is the money I make.

If you stiff someone for not filling up your drink quickly enough or not getting something out quickly enough, when they're obviously busy and running around the restaurant, I hate you.

I can agree. If the server doesn't give a crap and gives bad service, the server does not deserve a dime of my money.

I really enjoy following the EPL because there are 5 or 6 teams that could win the title every year. Most leagues cant say that. My favorite team is Chelsea. Yes they are "incredibly loaded" but there is also a chance they could finish in 5th. Also in the EPL any team can win on a given day. Chelsea lost the title last year because we couldn't beat relegation teams.

If you're worried about jumping on a bandwagon, you could always root for a team like Everton or Tottenham. They will never win the league, but they compete with the big boys.

Very rarely do I see a server not give a crap.

The problem is, most people's idea of "bad service" isn't bad at all.

I think if Bradley plays further back in the field, that will help his game a lot.

Okay, that makes sense. If most of them are loaded, I don't see a problem in jumping on a bandwagon.

I think I'll try and keep up for a season and then decide who I like to watch the most.
