Is it possible to hate both the Olympics and soccer, without being a terrorist or communist?

Because I can't stand either.

I confess in my younger days I watched the Olympics. Over the past 20 years I gave that up. Can't stand stuff that requires judges from a bunch of countries with political and personal agendas. Then add in not really caring about most of the rest because of the system, cheating, and junk that goes on getting them to qualify for the games. Futbol - nope. Not in my DNA.

So I will join you, Comrade.

On another note, how do you all feel about ignoring other users? Before my curiosity got the best of me and I couldn't do it, but I've decided to embrace it. So far, 9 esteemed members of Volnation have made my ignore list.

There are some people on my ignore list but I have pretty stringent standards for one to make it. The only way to make it is if you are an obvious troll or some crazy/idiot. When someone puts a person on ignore just because they have a differing opinion, I view it as very childish (This includes but is not limited to anyone that has ignored Bruin, LV, or any other otherwise good poster for butthurt reasons).

Not saying I'm judging you if you do those above things, but I am.

I finally did it today. I hope you can read this. Lol.

Just say for a minute, a man had an opportunity to move to Knoxville area in April/May. What would be the best school for his son who is a kicker?

I know Maryville. What else you got?

It will be hard to beat Maryville. Excellent school system, halfway decent property taxes, lots of homes for sale, lots of good places to eat and close to the mountains. The big plus is George Quarles as football coach. The way Maryville scores there will be lots of chances to kick extra points and kick-offs and some FG's. They have a winning tradition that's unmatched in Tennessee. Oh yeah, you're only about 20 minutes from Neyland.

It's all good. I just think its an overemphasized point by those who WANT to find fault with the sport. I am the first to say I HATE flopping, diving, and play acting. It was never a part of the game I played and I never knew it really existed until I began following the professional leagues. I'm not really sure how you get rid of flopping and play acting because how do you tell someone, "you're not really injured" because sometimes you don't know. So I've learned to look past that part of the game as an annoying inevitability.

Most do. If you watched soccer yesterday, it'd be hard to call it a snoozer or a soft sport. Germany vs Portugal and USA vs Ghana provided great entertainment. Germany showed near flawless soccer and USA showed the grit and fight. Dempsey played with a broke nose and no cover. That's a tough SOB.

I'm softening my stance on soccer. I actually watched the whole game yesterday and liked it.

I really didn't mean any disrespect to y'all with my "flopping" comment. I just saw several replays where the guys went down after being bumped. The guys would get up, stare down the ref and throw up their hands.

There were also some serious hits in the game.

Again, no disrespect.

Never got the arm raising and just lying there move. It hurts your team and forces them to play 11 v 10. Same thing with calling on offside as a defender. Get your hand down and stop the damn ball!

When I played I chewed out any player that pulled either of those moves. A foul or offside is an opinion. Giving up a goal is a fact. Don't give up a goal because of an opinion. Especially when it will never be changed.

Well, since we have had an interesting night in losing Dews and winning soccer; I present you an equally interesting video. (Disclaimer: Don't blare this video in most any types of company)

You forgot to tell everyone to get dangerously high on cocaine prior to watching that video. It might have made sense then.

:good!:

I have a few on ignore. Wish i didn't have to see them when someone else quotes 'em.

Just got home from shooting a 44 on the front 9. Stopped right there so I didn't screw it up.

Just walked off after the 9th hole. Boom

It was about 120 out there, I had played WAY above my level. I knew the back 9 was going to be a disaster. Just like in a Casino if you're up.... LEAVE.

Welp just put my first poster on ignore. Reminded me of that satisfaction you used to get when slamming a flip phone shut on someone.
