Just got home from shooting a 44 on the front 9. Stopped right there so I didn't screw it up.

Just walked off after the 9th hole. Boom

Let me preface this with I am a crappy golfer.

When my son was three, I got to play Pebble Beach.
Had a triple on 1, double on 2, bogey on 3. My usual game. Then I shot par, birdie, birdie, par. The caddie said okay now we areplaying, I started laughing and said those were my greatest 4 holes ever. I shot a 45 on the front 9 of Pebble Beach. Should have taken your route and walked away :)

I shot a back nine 52. Highlight was on 18, pulled my tee shot, headed for the Pacific, wind caught it, hit the rocks and landed dead center of the fairway. Managed to par 18. End on a high note :)

My son made me promise (at age 3) that I would take him to play Pebble Beach when he turned 13. He just turned 12. On his birthday, he pulled me aside and asked, "Dad, are you excited? We get to go play Pebble Beach next year!" A word of caution to the new Dads, be careful what you promise your toddlers, it can be expensive :)

I meant bodybuilding competitions sorry I didn't clarify.

I'll buy bodybuilding. Not to say bodybuilding isn't a sport, but I was referring to a more prolonged athletic competition requiring some form of endurance. Hard to make the muscles go if there's no fuel in there to burn.

Oh yeah. I was more referring to the "fasting is super unhealthy" idea. Any sport requiring endurance will need more carb intake for fuel. Anyone in an endurance sport shouldn't really be on any type of caloric restriction for the most part.

Yeah if you fasted for days at a time youd damage muscle cells, but by following IF you aren't fasting long enough to damage muscles. IF is just increasing fat oxidation for the most part, really not too different than a basic caloric restriction. But I'll go off the word and advice I've gotten from someone who actually competed professionally in the 80s than you.

Nutrition and lifting isn't a one way type of thing so people are bound to have differing opinions, there's a lot of ways to reach results you have your opinions others have theirs.

Well said Master Wayne

Body building isn't a sport. It's grown ass men wishing they could enter beauty pageants.

Every MMA fighter from the amateur level to the UFC disagrees.

False. Most body builders have two completely seperate portions of their routine:

1. Bulking-taking in additional calories to gain muscle mass
2. Cutting-decreasing calories to cut fat.

It is extremely difficult to do both at the same time, because you need additional calories to build muscle mass.
True maybe your big dogs like Heath, Greene, who do
One show a yr most guys who are doing three or four never really have a bulking phase so there are constantly keeping fat burning.

notice he said "for the most part". Manipulating water weight via the diet and water balance for a weigh-in (in the case for UFC/boxing participants) would be the small exception to the rule.

So how the hell did the thread get to talking about intermittent fasting?

Edit: Read the previous pages of posts.

Kudos to those that follow IF. Personally, I just count my macros and create a caloric deficit
