You know Pruitt is not playing the games, right?
Yes, but don't we measure coaches in winning? I also know our players look about as good on film as theirs. Both teams have flaws. Yes they had a bye, but we have a mountain of embarrassment rage to let loose.
If Pruitt does his job I reckon this is how the game will look.

After seeing that run after the catch maybe Phillips shoulda got some looks at TE hahaha he looked like Gronk out there bowling through guys.

Jumbo mean heavy short yardage or goal line package with Tuttle, Bain, and Phillips in the backfield in a triple option set up. Chandler as wildcat QB. Sprint left with Tuttle and Bain as lead knockout blockers and Phillips as the pitchman. Dare you to stop that!

Go big D-line Vols! 😎

I almost hope Florida somehow manages to win the East so they too can get embarrassed by Bama.
Our luck would be Hurts out for year and Tua injured for SEC championship game. Florida upsets Georgia and then wins game against 3rd string Bama QB.

Bama still makes playoffs and Tua returns. Florida loses a close game against a hapless Notre Dame but both are declared “back” due to circumstantial luck. Bama then wins another championship.

Agreed. It’s an interesting change. Kiffin, Dooley and Jones were all content to do what it took to keep the scores close to the degree they were able, but it meant absolutely nothing for the direction of the program.

Pruitt made the tough gamble calls at various points in those games that he thought were necessary for us to win those and we basically were burned every time. He didn’t care about losing by a wide margin - a loss is a loss. And then he called out the players and had held them publicly accountable for executing their assignments in those games and moments. Jones did that maybe once in a big game (Oregon?) in his whole tenure.

It’s a complete 180 with Pruitt. I like it. I like the brand of ball we play with him. We will get more players that fit his system and we will win some good ballgames and have a good time. No idea whether we will win another championship but I will enjoy watching it and I think we will have a team to be proud of.

Well said excellent post!

Juaun Jennings is already one of my all time favorite Vols. So many memorable plays and he had an awesome game yesterday in the circumstances. Him wrestling that fumbled ball away from four Tide players was vintage Jennings. He’s a winner.

Ditto. Back to back strong posts. Please post more!

That's soooo Tennessee

What kind of procedure are they using for high ankle sprains, that allow them to be back in 2-3 weeks, because all the ones we have seen hamper the player the rest of the year until surgery after the season? Bama injecting some kind of voodoo to take away pain?

Not sure what they do but my nephew had a sprained mcl and ankle sprain in jamboree game this year. Played 4 snaps the next week, week off then played full game. Resprained the ankle the next week, cortisone the next week and played. Missed the next week and has played the last 3 weeks. Big kid at 6-2 280 and still starting.

I'm sure part of Pruitt's frustration stems from them working on the same things over and over and over in practice, then seeing the same mistakes from the same players every game. Missed tackles, busted coverage, giving up on plays, costly dead ball penalties are all preventable, yet still happening. He's not used to the lack of discipline and effort that has plagued UT football for almost a decade-- and all the coaches seem frustrated that things that should be fixable aren't being fixed. It's frustrating for fans, too-- we've just had more time to get used to it.

I’m not judging him completely on year 1 results or any particular game. What’s the point? He’s our coach for at least three more years regardless of what happens Saturday. I don’t understand the motivation to peg him early and spend three years saying “told ya so because he lost to USC year one.” Just seems silly.
I spent about 8 years justifying the last two coaches and tuned in to watch damn near every painful minute. This round I have some things I am looking for. As much as you might say I am looking for him to fail I am naming what I would envision as success. He gets 4 years (and they all should IMO) regardless what I think, but if he wants me to listen, buy tickets, or consume what he's selling I don't think it's much to ask to hit some low bar expectations.

I am currently slated to attend 2-3 more games. USC outcome could affect that. Being honest as someone at the Bama game, a hell of a lot already are.

He was a definite bright spot.

When a chef is used to grilling with Wagu, he’s going to be a bit frustrated having to work with Spam

Does booger ever shut up on MNF? My goodness man your the 3rd wheel out here trying to be the main guy

I have watched MNF for 47 years until this year. I quit because of Booger. You are right. He needs to go. Not sure what ESPN was thinking

Right with you

Fully support Pruitt, but eyes are wide open after Dooley and Butch made a fool of my defenses for them.

There are a lot of things that you can look back to and mock if he fails that I’ve taken note of, but in the honeymoon stage, no one will hear it, and it may end up being exactly what was needed

I went all in today on voicing some opinions but I am still fully behind Pruitt. I also believe he's a young guy used to talent and winning and may have went all in himself this weekend. That I can respect as long as the ends justify the means. I won't call a kettle black but anyone raising an eyebrow at my points should ask if Pruitt has counsel doing the same. I believe he does.

TBH I trust Phil, and Phil alone. The rest gotta earn it.
