If you can get Avery out of KSU, you absolutely do it. His game is very Hendon like. Going to be a tough pull though. Hit him with your best offer and maybe he bites. Keep Luke, who I think is still an upgrade from Nico, especially from the mental side, as a back up plan. Either way, you are golden for 2025 season. This isn’t going to drag out, once portal opens it will end quickly.

Coming out of Spring practice, other than QB, what do you see as team needs?

Leaders are leaders. It was always a question in my mind. Mostly bc Hubbs said it like every other week. Will 'Knee-coup' become that guy? Will 'knee-coup' be that leader?

And we were still talking about it here in Spring sesh. Ya know, diddy micro managing from 2000 miles away isnt leading.

WRs are questionable, not going to lie, but said same about DBs before last season. I think DL could use a little more depth, but that’s luxury. The safety spot has to be better, if there was a stud out there, I would be all over that. I’m actually pretty excited about OL. I like the new line as it’s configured.

Adding OL and DL depth would be icing on top.

Agreed is a QB who is essentially a 6 month rental worth 4 million? The collective isn’t in this to lose money and I doubt it could recoup its investment is 6 months so I find it unlikely they make that type investment.

4 is misleading the opportunity cost at 4 is 1.5. Nico was getting 2.5 so status quo is 2.5. If we go to 4 our added expense is really 1.5 and if you get a playoff run vs 8 wins then yes in ticket sales alone and fan donations it is worth it. Jmo imo

Receiever with real playing experience.
DB I think. Maybe a proven star to share reps with Boo. If Boo really is going to return and play offense someone will need to play real minutes with him.

I was in Canada last year for work, I wish I knew. I wasn’t around the facilities. I think the new truth in recruiting is, someone will always pay more. Either be prepared to counter quickly, or move on, and have contingency plan. Some of these “agents” are not very ethical.

Everyone is recruiting the same players. You’re not going to get everyone u want.

Teams can’t afford, literally, to lose guys before Fall camp. Too much money is invested in the roster to suffer Spring injuries. They’re also having procedures done and rehabbing. It’s a business.

They get them conditioned and familiar w the system in the Spring.

They need everybody ready by Fall camp for the real season.

I like Avery Johnson and if you can get him you do it. Not sure there’s anyone else that I’d poach for $4M to be an immediate starter. I’d rather save that, get a mid-tier QB for less to help us get thru 2025 season and spend on future recruits. T. Keys would have been nice addition at WR if we were willing to pay.

My guess is Danny White is on the warpath, because he has repeatedly said how much he HATES leaks. The leak itself never should have happened. And I doubt we ever get to know who the culprit was. But I hope whoever it was no longer has a career involved with Tennessee sports.

I'm guessing the leak was intentional to control the narrative once we decided to move on from Nico. The leak didn't cause us to lose him. And it worked amazingly well. Literally everyone in the media is in our side.

We would never get another top qb recruit ever…JH needs to protect his integrity and trust putting faith in the players he recruited investing that time and trust it’s all for nothing if he doesn’t…this is a much bigger picture..I wish JH would just roll with what he’s got and mold them how he wants them to be not coming in from high school never playing a down and demanding 4 million because he’s a 5*…these kids don’t have that kind of ego they will listen.

Got to get a third QB. Look for someone from a lower tier program with good measurables, success, & experience who wants a taste of the SEC who has no expectation to start, only an expectation to compete.

Twitter rumors aside, we're not paying anyone 4M. We'll get a serviceable backup in case of need, to make a 3 man roster.

There are videos of him throwing several TD passes so he couldn’t have been that far off.

I was in on Avery Johnson the moment someone said Josh Dobbs. Now that I’ve seen those highlights I’m thinking go get this guy now if he’s at all interested.
