"The offensive coordinator sometimes is overrated." These are stupid words to escape the mouth of any head coach at a press conference when asked about his search for an offensive coordinator. Should Pruitt be fired for it? No, and I haven't seen anyone say that he should be. Nonetheless, it is a very dumb thing to say, I am sure he knew it as soon as he said it, but he kept a good poker face. That's trial lawyer 101, if you say something stupid or if a witness says something bad, you keep a poker face on and keep going. It's also trial lawyer/public relations 101 that you don't waste time arguing and thus expending your credibility trying to convince people of something they are likely never to be convinced of anyway, e.g., the sun does not rise in the east, the sky is not blue, or that saying "the offensive coordinator sometimes is overrated" is a whole lot different than "offensive coordinators are overrated". However that is precisely what has been happening the last 5-6 pages or so. I don't know what would be so hard, if you were inclined to defend the statement, or why it would make you a bad Vol fan to say: YES, I THINK PRUITT CHOSE HIS WORDS POORLY HERE, THIS IS WHAT I THINK HE WAS TRYING TO SAY: That's a lot better than just berating everyone who disagrees with you.
