Pruitt Is Not The Answer

The players know what kind of coach Pruitt is. If we see the transfer portal heat up that will be the signal. He could win out the rest of the year like last year from here and everybody will forget these losses

He better find a QB & quick. No way he wins out with who we have left, much less gets to a winning record with JG starting, not even close.

Dooley inherited crap from Kiffin, Jones inherited crap from Dooley. Pruitt doesn't have any more of an excuse than those 2 guys did.
It’s debatable ..... but .... Jones left UT with nothing more than a side of beef or two for linemen....on both sides of the ball. ..... that’s the kind of issue that takes a little longer to overcome ..... especially with a QB like JC that holds the ball

Nothing about Leach’s offense is modern. It’s just a gimmick.

Tell that to the NFL, who have embraced it and have multiple teams who run it in large part.

The Patriots took multiple aspects of it in 2007 and have used it since. They sure struggled.

Oklahoma and Ohio State also use a version of it too. The I formation is dead.

What gets me is the past 2-3 weeks Pruitt has started making some Butch like statements....That usually means a coach is lost and clueless to the situation when that starts happening.

Pruitt is going to be around for at least another year. It would be a disaster to make another coaching change, and the program can't afford it anyway. If he beats Florida everybody will settle down.
Beating Florida which I doubt will happen isn't going to make up for all of his other flaws.

Ok, so go ahead and list the names of those home run coaches who was beating the door down to get the job and the ones who would jump at the position if it were to open up tonight!!! Go ahead, I'll wait........
Les Miles was literally sitting at home in 2017 and we could probably still get him now. His worst season at LSU he still won 8 games.

As for right now, Hugh Freeze is a very gettable target who I would call a “home run hire” considering the circumstances.

Never thought I’d dislike a coach more than Pruitt.

He’s shown us nothing to make us think he’s an SEC HC.

Getting blown out by a below average UK team and getting embarrassed by your main rivals three years in a row is not improvement.

There’s nothing to be excited about.
Fire the coach and hire who? No big name coach out there wants the job! I can cause you forgot, we tried that 3 years ago.

I have had time to contemplate all of this and I realize that I don't have the same "level" of interest in UT Football like previous years, it has nothing to do with my "Real Fan" status, but who likes watching their team get taken to the woodshed? not me, if I watch these games it deteriorates my support, it doesn't improve it, that is for sure. It's one thing to be competitive and get beat, but that whole game plan of Pruitt's or whoever was just embarrassing to watch. Am I a fair-weather fan, not really, I just can't watch that kind of game, Are the players committed? are the coaches doing their jobs? hell, I don't know. But the product on the field looks like poor game planning a preparation.

He's never been the answer!...Fulmer is terrible about hiring coaches...Remember the Clawfense?...Sanders...Coach Cut was the best coach on his staff for years and I am still steaming mad we didn't hire him when we had the chance after Kiffin left.
Dave Clawson has been successful everywhere he's been but here. The direction of the program is tied to Fulmer both to his last years as coach and now as AD. I don't mind that he is AD, even though it's pretty unusual to hire a guy as AD who was fired for letting the program roll into the ditch

Results speak for themselves follks. Can anybody look at the last three weeks and honestly say that this program is moving in the right direction? I cannot see it if you can.
Agreed. Fulmer gave Pruitt a contract extension last month. Since then, we are 2-3, on a 3 game losing streak, outscored in the last 3 games 126-45. This is still one of the best coaching jobs in college football, but we need a change at the top. A new AD who gives Pruitt a 2 year mandate, 10 wins by end of year 5 or you are gone.

I’ve always liked him and was giving him the benefit of the doubt. But now, halfway through year 3, it’s apparent he ain’t the answer.
Here we go again

Strangely enough, we blew out the team that best the team that blew out our team.

I think the most disappointing thing I see is, I thought we were getting a staff that would coach players up, improve upon the players abilities. We have fallen short on that fundamental concept with every hire

Here’s another fundamental concept, tackling.

What substance have you been imbibing that makes you think we have a prayer of beating Florida? Florida is a good football team; we are not.

No, we emphatically did not. We could have had a coach who just played Bama to the wire two weeks ago; but he was beneath our worthless fat AD and we didn't consider him though he practically begged every five minutes through the media for the opportunity. We could have had a coach who beat Bama multiple times and now has his FBS school undefeated and in first place in their league and whomping everyone they play; but he was beneath us.

We have a bunch of morons running the AD and they need to be shown the door yesterday and someone brought in who has a brain and will hire a proven coach. It's not rocket science. We just need to get rid of the a@sholes and get someone who gives a damn running the show.

Pruitt is 15-15.

43% of his games coached were lost by double digits.

86% of his losses are by double digits (13/15). The only two games lost that weren't by double digits are Georgia State and BYU.

66% of his wins are by double digits.

He has a 9-12 SEC record. 5 of his conference wins are by double digits.

They lost to South Carolina in 2018 27-24.

I'm not done with Pruitt yet. I think he has woefully mismanaged the qb situation and that cost us UK and might cost us a few more.
