Factually untrue is "excellent". Interesting. Otherwise, how is the water Mr Lemming?

Don't bring me into your crusade dumbazz. You're the one overworking this thread. Some of your points are valid but overall this discussion is ridiculous.

So proud of where this thread has gone. Everyone arguing, fans of the same team calling one another dumbazzes. Could not be more proud. Not even exaggerating.

People on here call me a troll for stirring the pot, etc, but it's good to see this forum serving its purpose.

Vols fans are so passionate and opinionated. Love to see a good debate. Even if it has nothing to do with the original topic.

Speaks volumes of how much we really love the Vols. Great to be a Tennessee Vol.

Keep this up guys, I live for this.

Lol I saw that, Dragon. Easily one of the top 5 best/worst insults in this thread. And it's full of them, too.

YES. Just... YES.

So tired of people referring to 17 year olds on our team. I actually looked it up and the majority of our freshmen were actually 19 when they enrolled !

You are EIGHTEEN when you go to college.

I love all of the guys on here talking about how we have 17 year olds going up against 23 year olds. 6 year difference, there. LOL

Kyle Phillips was 17 when he enrolled in January. Same with Venzell Boulware who was 17 years old when he enrolled in August. So we did have a couple of 17 year olds. However you're right most of our freshmen are 19 right now, but they were 18 when they enrolled in the summer.

Most of our freshmen were born in the fall of 1996. Thus they only recently turned 19.

Ummmm, no it isn't. Injuries are more likely to occur when players are fatigued. Jones has BOASTED about pushing to players with pace and physicality. Technically it is still speculation... but a very reasonable speculation.

The "theory" that players are getting hurt because they're underclassmen is disproven by the very fact that the majority of the key injuries weren't to underclassmen.

Injuries DO happen in football. You're attempt to "disprove" my point by citing Chubb falls flat. Why didn't you use Tuttle instead?

There are going to be injuries. FATIGUE DOES increase the risk of injury of mistake in EVERY activity.... not just football.

Dude. All of that stuff is great and will hopefully help. It will NOT prevent guys from getting tired in practice due to pace and then getting hurt.

Are you really so sold out to deflect responsibility from Jones that you resist a very, very simple fact? Tired people are more susceptible to injury. It is true of factory workers, soldiers,.... and football players.

Having watched him awhile now, Jones WILL make some adjustments to try to reduce practice injuries especially. They will make S&C changes based on the number of arm muscle injuries.

It is just so funny watching the knee jerk reactions of people like you when you sense someone suggesting Jones isn't perfect.

Just a TAD SHORT of perfect...huh buddy? :wink2: I like how you present your admitted SPECULATION with a scientific bent on one hand and dispute any counter as worshipping at the Church of Butch. Better than having a dispute with your theory...present any dissent as unreasonable and partisan. You do realize you're capable of such in your rare moments of self-realization?

I see the merits in your theory on it's common sense basis but I have to ask why it's manifesting just now? Butch employed these methods AND LAWSON at his previous stops and two training regimens at this one. I think you've completely discounted the possibility of the freak factor...and that's a weakness. :nono:

I have faith that Butch has noticed the increased injuries without even logging on this board and will give the thought of tweaking his training methods all due consideration. :)

You sure about Kyle Phillips? According to UTSports.com, Kyle was born October 20, 1995....meaning he just turned 20....

BOOM. Caught. So we had 1 guy who enrolled during the spring at 17 and is now 18, and aside from that. The VAST MAJORITY of the freshmen class are actually 19. Or 20!

Ha!

I get it, they're young. Their freshmen.

But they're NOT 17.

I love how people like you two know nothing about football and try to talk about it. And whether they are 16 or 20 if they haven't gone through a couple of years college conditioning they are,at a huge disadvantage.

So you are still trying to claim this after I proved to you that most of the injuries have occurred to players with at least a couple of years in Jones' S&C program?

BTW, the whole "agree with me or else you're ignorant" schtick is vain at best and dishonest at worst. Not very becoming for someone with "preacher" in their screen name.

Yes... very "intelligent" response. You agreed with something that was factually inaccurate and poorly reasoned. That's your fault. Not mine. What were you saying about someone being a dumb....?

I answered his claim that I was not reasoning correctly or respecting "facts". It is my opinion. It is based in facts, reason, common experience, and Jones' own words. It is consistent with what I know of all of those things.

We all have opinions here. But contrary to what too many have been told by our post-modern culture... all opinions are NOT equal.

People do have knee jerk reactions when they think someone has criticized Jones... and you know it.

BTW, I did show why the other guy's "theory" held no water. Rather than saying "oh, I may have been mistaken"... he tried to claim he didn't say what he said.

You could be right. However it isn't completely new. Last year I did write off some of the injuries to having to play either young guys or guys that had not been in a good S&C program long enough.

I cannot remember how many practice injuries UT had last year but overall there were several key injuries. They were down to Wharton and Jenkins playing a lot vs Iowa.

It could be an anomaly but there are still causes that Jones as a good leader will try to get a handle on.

I have faith that Butch has noticed the increased injuries without even logging on this board and will give the thought of tweaking his training methods all due consideration. :)

I said that earlier. My argument was with someone who claimed that the problem you say Jones will address... doesn't even exist.

Yeah... I guess that's why I actually fact checked volpreacher's post before praising it....

I'm not going to argue with you. The point I was praising in his post was that fatigue is not the only factor in injuries. I have read the back and forth between you guys and guess what? You're all right. Injuries happen for many different reasons. It will be absolutely prudent for this staff to review how they practice. I have faith that they will. For you however, you need to learn that others may bring items to the discussion that are valid even if they are in conflict with yours. I can promise you that you are not the smartest guy in the room and you don't know nearly as much as you think you do. Of course you probably do know this deep down or your go to move wouldn't be personal attacks with people that actively debate you.

He's shown flashes in a few games. He's a true freshman coming off of an acl tear. What do you think we should be getting out of him that we aren't getting?

I really have no expectations of him. I just find it laughable to describe him as being a "baller" given his stats. I'd feel the same with that descriptor applied to any and all of our WR's this year.

You're kidding right?

Nope. Are you? According to UT sports, he has 7 receptions for 158 yards this season. By comparison the leading receiver in the country has 58 receptions for 1122 yards and 11 TD's. Hell, the #50 receiver in the country has 34 receptions for 532 yards and 3 TD's.

According to the SEC, Preston is ranked #54...in the conference....not the country mind you...he's ranked #54 in the SEC. Let that sink in. He has a long of 49 yards. Of course, when you only have 7 catches on the season, that's a big, big help to the YPC. Sorry, but averaging 1...ONE...catch per game....that's not what I'd call a "baller".

His yards per catch that leads the team?

When you have 7 catches on the year and a long of 49 yards, it's not that hard to "lead the team".

See my replies above. FWIW, I'm not down on the kid. Just saying it's a bit of a joke to call him a "baller" at this point based on his production to date.
