Preston Williams Updates?

I really have no expectations of him. I just find it laughable to describe him as being a "baller" given his stats. I'd feel the same with that descriptor applied to any and all of our WR's this year.

Yeah calling him a baller at this point is really just looking at potential more than production.

So... the guy who had a season ending injury before he came to UT is hurt again, and itts the coaches fault?

With our stable of WR's maybe the coaches shouldn't have been playing a freshman so soon after an ACL tear. I expected to see Williams in the 2nd half of the season, not the 1st game

I'm not trolling, just posting what I see. In year 3 our coach is still relying on freshmen in a lot of starting roles. That causes injures. Everyone knows that, yet he keeps it up.

Your point about playing freshman is well taken and it's surely not optimal. I would argue however that he is trying to get the best available players on the field. The reason he is having to play so many young players stems from the abysmal roster he inherited. I think many people forget how few SEC caliber players Dooley left behind. Just think back or go back and watch a few games from Butch's first year.

I will also offer this thought to SJT and some of the others concerned about how tough the practices are and why he chooses to have such intense practices. I think that the team Butch inherited was really soft and not mentally or physically tough at all. I saw it in the way they played prior to Butch. If you are going to shift culture you sometimes have to go to an opposite extreme. I am concerned about injuries stemming from hyper intense practices too but this program has needed some of that. I think as we add and develop more depth the number of injuries will decrease. I think the team is culturally in a place that he can tailor practices differently next year. We will see.

Having personal experiences with an acl and lcl tear I was very surprised he was even ready at the beginning of the year. The injury is worse mentally than physically imo. I don't blame him at all for sitting out one game. I'm sure his knee swells up after every game and sometimes you think you retore it every now and then because it hurts so bad. Lay it off guys. Acl tears stick with you for the rest of your life, trust me.

You have to realize that many posters on this board know nothing about football or how our bodies operate when injured. Unfortunately, they post as if they think are head coaches or Physicians. All they do is let everyone know the limit of their knowledge

He started with nothing and the less talent in the history of Tennessee football and we were below Kentucky and Vandy in talent he had to play freshmen, next year we won't have to depend on freshmen we will be one big bad azz kicking orange machine.:lolabove:

You sure about Kyle Phillips? According to UTSports.com, Kyle was born October 20, 1995....meaning he just turned 20....

PERSONAL

Full Name: Kyle Phillips
Born: Oct. 20, 1995
Son of Teresa Phillips
Mother Teresa serves as Director of Athletics at Tennessee State University in Nashville
Majoring in Communication Studies

I think that might be wrong. Shy Tuttle was born that same day. I think they might be mixing up Tuttle's birthday with KP. When I was following NSD it said Kyle was born in May 1997.

Every game we have played this year we have had key player's out and i know it's part of the game but it seem's like we have had more than our share when we get a team that's not hurt look out we will put a beat down on somebody, plus the football GOD'S have had it in for us for 2 year's that's has to change and maybe 16 will be the year that we will go through a season somewhat healthy and if so this team will be a force to deal with, we will be able to play and beat any team in the country, just looking ahead to the 16 season if we are healthy there will be NFL talent everywhere and we will be team that can win the SEC.:clapping:

Good Lord.................stop it please!

Could be...that's what the information is on UTSports.com....take it up with them.

.....which would still make him 18.

Good job remembering a teenage boy whom you've never met's birthday.

This is a common misconception our fans like to throw out. It's a way to justify how bad we've been. Our talent did drop during the Dooley years, but it never fell below UK or Vandy. Heck during the 2013 Vandy game we started 13 or 14 4* recruits to Vandy's 1

"young" team has nothing to do if they are 17, 18 19. It's about EXPERIENCE. Thread on here a week or so back broke down several teams by the number of FR, SO, JR SR and we were well below on the number of upper classmen starting. We don't have a lot of depth, that's where we hurt the most.

I know that doesn't fit your agenda of hating the coaching staff but facts are facts....

If I am Orson Welles, this thread is MY Citizen Kane.

Keep up the good work, guys!!
