Post Spring Depth Chart

I think even with all the talent we have at WR..Jeff George has to be out there...best opportunity would be in the red zone and give him a chance to go up and catch the corner route.

Preston and George should spell:td: every time in the red zone.

O'Brien will probably be the starter until Tuttle is fully recovered and game ready from his injury. My guess is that we will see Tuttle the starter by mid-season.

Let's hope Butch is willing to take advantage of George's size and apparent ability in the redzone this year. He's been very hesitant to do so our other big, talented WRs the past couple years.

It was only two years ago that Croom was our best red zone receiver. Could/should have been used more, but I thought Jason did a fine job as a red zone receiver. Who knows what he could have done last year had he not been injured.

Based on what?

Ill back track on my original comment about Eli Wolf passing Croom, and just say that it seems like the younger Wolf seems to give us a viable 3rd option at tight end based on the end of spring practice and the spring game. I would think (just opinion) that he is already ahead of J. Johnson.

I'm a little surprised Jack Jones isn't starting. Did he under perform during camp or was he just beat out ?!

Our third team is about as good as some lower level D1 schools...It would probably finish in the top three of the Sun Belt and mid pack of the AAC, MAC and CUSA.

Tennessee Football: Projecting Vols Post-Spring, 2-Deep Depth Chart | Bleacher Report

The LB part of the depth chart is a little misleading to me. But since we have a new DC I could be missing a fundamental understanding of our scheme. Will we be running our defense mostly with 2 LBs? Surely more guys will see the field than those 4...

Is Kirkland better than Jumper? Yes. Can Jumper improve? Yes, and I'm sure he has so let's not treat him like he is an opposing player.

As far as the DT rotation I am not too terribly concerned with depth at all. Mixon can always slide inside for a few snaps and Picou is the smaller, quick DT that will play in blitz situations. We should be fine.
I really think the Jumper hate is overblown and unwarranted. He is not a bad or even below average player. Compared to Kirkland there is obvious dropoff but we are fine with him in the field. The fact there were quite a few times last season where he was on the field with Kirkland and JRM speaks to that.

Kendrick will back up both tackle positions and as much as I like the effort Jumper shows, by fall camp At the very least Blakely will be the back up if he picks the system up

I really think they want to redshirt Blakely. Add some weight and set him up as heir apparent to Kirkland. Bryant looked good out there in the O&W game and should be able to hold down the backup job...health permitting.

Zing! Oh man, you got me.

I'm willing to bet if Jumper doesn't play in the games we lost last year then chances we could have pulled out 2 more W's greatly increase.

He's not the sole reason we lost but he was a matador on some key plays and TD's we gave up on D in those games.

I'm willing to bet people are secretly embarrased to know you.

I can't get over how talented that two-deep is. Sure, theres a couple weaker spots, but overall, this team is super talented.
