It technically hasn't been approved by the judge yet. Additionally, it will be up to each school as to how to distribute it. It's available for all athletes in every sport. So, any roster construction right now does not involve that money distribution.

As the coaches always discuss, our athletic department uses analytics for compensation for our sports. Barnes alluded to it last night. They have a value and won't go much beyond that value. Right now, we are not looking for starters on our football team. We are looking for guys who will come in at a certain number for depth, play hard, and then we will reward them more.

Tennessee has entered the mix for one of the top remaining transfer wide receivers in the transfer portal, On3 has learned. Cal transfer Jonathan Bradycould visit Knoxville this week, as early as Wednesday, as the Volunteers look to add depth to their wide receiver room.
Miami and Virginia Tech have also been factors in Brady’s recruitment to this point. The Hurricanes took Cincinnati wideout Tony Johnson earlier this week, however, leading Brady to evaluate other possible options.







A former New Mexico State transfer, Brady has 98 career catches for 1,317 yards and 10 touchdowns. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound receiver flourished in 2023 at New Mexico State with Diego Pavia, posting 38 receptions for 624 yards and four touchdowns working out of the slot. Brady and Tennessee running back Star Thomas were teammates at New Mexico State in 2023.

I'm just saying that isnt what we have reported as a university, multiple sites saying we were basically the leader in the talent fee charge starting this year with the funds going to the student athletes.

In anticipation of the House settlement, which hasn’t technically been approved yet. It was being proactive. They will have the money on hand when the time comes. But as of today, the players aren’t getting that money from the university yet.
