counterpoint. ive been a fan since mid 80's, when by brain allowed recalling sitting inside Neyland. It’s remembering the winning, and competitiveness that reminds - we arent SC, Missouri, or even Tamu.
And your brain is very selective because we haven’t smelled competing for championships before CJH since 2005. TWENTY years ago.
And you’re the guy who said you can’t be scared to lose someone because you have to be aggressive. And when he brings someone in and someone leaves you’re the first to cry about someone leaving.

The fact is, we lost the entire D-back room. You and the legions freaked the Fwak out and we got a lot better at the position. We even made the playoffs. We lost most of the WR room except the one guy CjH saw as valuable and the legions freaked the fwak out again.

I prefer to look at trends and this guy is a winner. I’m not freaking out because Nico left either, or that we picked a QB that can only help us for one year. We made the playoffs with a guy who was way overrated and couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn if he was in it.

We will be fine.

I think we should be better in the portal, but I also get why it's so difficult.

I'll be upset if they can't land anyone, but I doubt that happens and we'll end up shoring up depth within the week.

So we should def sh*t on the current HC that pulled this proud program out of the basement all bc we remember the good ol days!!

I’m just messing with ya. I think Heup is doing a great job tho.
Is there something going on with Spyre? Disconnect between coach and Spyre? Do we need a GM? What's the issue? Someone needs to accept that these results are NOT acceptable, and that falling behind the middle of the pack talent wise is more than a slipper slope.
He's a good coach. And, I think his kindness, perceived is a great value. I do think he needs to make a change a WR coach, at very minimum. Maybe OC. We will see on that.

We were recruiting at a mid SEC tier before, whatever wall we hit. Invisible as it is.

Bottom line, and we will all agree. 2 OL in the fall porthole, and going Ofer in Spring porthole, sans trading for a backup QB is NOT gonna cut it. In any league.

What the absolute hell is going on?

Wait I was sitting in the GA dome, man. I watched that, was yesterda...oh. Its been that long?

We were relevant during Botch years. Point is with our tradition, fscilities, alum base. We should never struggle to recruit.

Heup makes like 8 figures but doesnt want to spend “too much” on the portal lmaooo

Yeh good luck with that mindset. Youre ab to get lapped by teams you thought you were ahead of currently. Teams like UF, SCar, OU, AU. All bc you dont even try to adapt.

Barely got enough players to run adequate practices in the Spring and it still looks the same.
It wasn't about lacking bodies in the spring, the roster was pretty much full.

If you're calling for heads, don't forget Elarbee.

No matter how much a Jazz fan might have loved and appreciated Karl Malone, they would be left scratching their heads if he were wide open under the basket and just held the ball until the shot clock expired.

The silver lining of the OSU game is that it gave you an idea of the gap you needed to close with the top tier of the sport. I don’t how “stand pat” was the message the staff took from that game.

I don’t seem to think it’s a problem until it shows on the field. Keep winning games and Heup can treat the portal however he wants. Surprised he hasn’t earned some grace from the fanbase with the start of his tenure here.

Everyone complained and thought we needed a new DC but Heup held onto Banks and look how that turned out.

In a perfect world I would like to see an experienced OC that brings in some new wrinkles but not sure how feasible that would be if Heup is calling plays. Other than that, no complaints.

Gruden for OC and QB coach!!

Anyway, hopefully things continue to be fluid.

Lot of my frustration effervesced during the swing and amish on porthole receivers.

Maybe we can snag one. Would be good to have that leader in room.

morans.

My 2 cents on CJH and portal.
Ive read in several places that OSU had a $20 million dollar plus roster, while UTs was around $11-14. Everyone wants to drive a Corvette but we’re on Chevette budget.
CJH wants a (WR-DT-CB) we offer $1.2-1.5 someone else offers $2 mill what’s CJH to do. Coaches, not just ours either, are limited by what their NIL budget can do. Plus CJH has an added obstacle of scholarship limits imposed by NCAA.
I’d like to see him operate with no limits in either place.
Just my 2 cents.
I don't blame these young men. Who the hell wants to drive a Chevette...they suck.

Turds, Cocks, Barn all found offensive players.

the Georgia State kid resigned with, Georgia State. We are sucking windZ
While I think we should more aggressive in the portal. You also have to play the high school recruits you recruited otherwise don’t recruit high school players. If your attitude is to go get a transfer to replace every starter you lose then what’s the point of recruiting high school players. We have depth issues at certain spots. That’s my conceding the portal recruiting.

Normally I would agree 100%, and while I do. I think 25 is a one off. Because you HAVENT done that, now you're forced to play all frosh. They refused to rotate, consequently no one has ANY experience.

Now your back is up against the wall to fall into a portholer. Anyway, ive said my piece.

So much b*tching and moaning about a HC who has won 74% of his games and 71% of his games at UT.
A lot of it is incessant and dramatic, but some level of concern is certainly warranted. A roster this fragile and thin isn't the expectation of Tennessee in a coach's 5th year. Everyone is playing under the same rules. You have to adapt. Despite Heup's winning percentage, his ability to adapt to the changing landscape and his staff's ability...particularly the offensive staff...to develop their hand-selected players into high-caliber SEC players is concerning to me.

So you do or don’t think they should play their high school players?
