The same people mostly who complain about him having transferred are the same ones who complained about him when he was here.
I personally am not going to miss him. I don't think I've ever seen him make a catch and not fall on his a$$. Plus, he led the SEC in drops 2 yrs ago. He definitely won't be missed, by me anyway. But, still curious as to why. You don't have a mass exodus of WR's if their position coach is not an issue. Plus, all the Pope rumors out there...

I'm really curious to hear why Squirrel left. I still wonder if Nico may have told him what he was possibly planning. Or, the more likely scenario is Pope. I'm sure it will eventually come out.
I think the more likely scenario that you mentioned is dead on. Pope isn’t producing world class play. . He seems to be struggling to keep his own players. There’s drama on the internet. And we aren’t attracting WRs in this class at the moment. zero idea what metric he’s employed by.!

He was hurt but got open a lot and had some drops. I can’t speak for others but I certainly didn’t want him to go.!

The touchdown catch from Milton against Missouri in 2023 (at Missouri and Tennessee got hammered) was one of the best catches I have ever seen a UT receiver make. He got hurt on the play and missed the remainder of the season

My thinking as well. I really hated it when Burns left. I still hold out hope that CJH will upgrade the WR Coaching. It can't be a coincidence. I guess if we don't see the young WR's develop or they start jumping the portal again in December, that will give us the answer. He's got all young WR',s now outside of Brazzell. Will see if the drama continues with him too.

Or what if he agreed to a bump in pay but then decided he wanted more, asked for more, and was told no.

There could be a lot more reasons he left than the 2 you listed.

I guess. But I'd think if Money was the issue he would have bounced way before this year, especially coming off his least productive season of his career. Not to mention all the other older WR's also bouncing. And betting if it was money that would have been public knowledge.

We have 2 WRs committed in the ‘26 class

Unless an agent found him much more money from a desperate team - see the season FSU is coming off of - at the last second.

And also lost the best of the 3 after leading for him forever. Not to mention his reason for choosing LSU was how much better they develop WR's .

Leading doesn’t mean anything lol

But yeah missing out on the #1 WR in the class sucks, on that I agree.

Def possibly. But why leave for that $hit show with zero production out of their returning QB's to this point. Atleast at the time he would have thought Nico was returning. The again, who knows what Nico may have told him

Nico wasn't the most popular with the receivers last year. Nico being the QB didn't help in retaining guys in that group last year. That goes for some of the guys that are still here as well.

Then my question would be…. How do you know this? How do you know that other receivers aren’t interested AT THE MOMENT?
We whiffed on Keys after leading. If we’re trending with a blue chip WR then no one is telling the media guys. Unless I’ve missed one, I haven’t heard one of the media or podcast guys mention a WR in 3-4 weeks. If I’m wrong then I would love to be.

That I didn't know. I figured they were all close, but guess not

Not saying that’s what happened. Just that it’s one of many possibilities

Leading doesn’t mean anything in the days of NIL. Stop buying into that. This isn’t 2015 recruiting anymore.

I think the best way to describe last year is that they were all trying to be professional when they got between the lines and keep all of the drama contained to the facility. There were guys that were over it all by the time of the playoff game.

Cool. Where did Dunham commit after ND lead ? You’ll come back and say that’s one example. I’ll cite another one. If you don’t think there’s a problem with offensive recruiting in general and receiver in particular then that’s fine. I’m not sure you’re right. I hope I’m wrong. Either way I’m not arguing about it.

Damn, more reason to be happy Nico is gone.

Squirrel has a young kid, and he probably won’t play in the NFL.

I don’t blame him for leaving for $$
