Listening to AP the past couple weeks, it seems like the staff really likes Matthews, Brazzell, & Staley as our starting WR group. Guess its hard to convince someone to come be a rotational piece.

Most won’t like it (I wish they’d get another guy) but they seem confident in what we have
I hope that’s right.

I'm a bit over it with this offensive staffs perceived lackadaisical attitude toward recruiting. What else can I do? Nothing.

We have a real opportunity to take next step.

I know this opinion will be unpopular, and Im aware of its hot takedness. But is what it is. Looking around the room, there is zero reason we cant go get a difference maker at WR.

Ill give it to DC and those guys. They modified their approach, and it worked.
You need to eat a snickers Jack. It’s not that bad. Just relax and let it play out. I personally think the staff might think the wide receivers are a little better than you do. It’s hard for us to know because we don’t get to see them practice but the coaches do. I’m just gonna see how it plays out but young players can be good also. You are usually a little more balanced than this. It’s a beautiful day. Enjoy.

Let’s hope they are right and that Boo, Jefferson and the true fresh can help some there too.

Exactly! I've said this exact same thing. Our Defensive staff is pretty damn good. Our offensive staff is a bunch of Heupel's buddies. I really wish he would bring in an established OC and bring in a staff that matches what each wants to do. That definitely worked for Day last year. I'd kill to have a Hartline on our staff recruiting and developing.
The exact same people bitching about how bad the offensive staff is this year were bitching exactly one year ago how horrible the defensive staff was. They all wanted Banks and Martinez fired and said that Heupel’s loyalty to them would get him fired. Now they are great and the offensive staff sucks. Can we just calm down and let the guy who delivered us from the abyss do his job. Absolutely nothing good will ever come from trashing our staff on the internet. It’s actually sad that fans are losing their minds about getting portal players and making up all kinds of crazy stuff in their heads because Heupel isn’t broadcasting every move to the whole dang world. It’s hard to win in the SEC but my gosh Heupel deserves the benefit of the doubt.

Exactly. Way overrated. 346 yards. Had a couple nice kick returns, yay. We have at least 4 WRs who are better.
They may be better, but NOBODY knows. Especially considering our entire WR Room has 9 TOTAL starts. We have some with very high ceilings, but can't say they are better, yet. And I hope to hell they are. I like the potential of Mathews, Smith and Jackson. Not so much with Brazzell, he seems to show up, then disappear. Only twice has Brazzell had more than 3 catches and that was against UTC and Vandy . He averaged 25 yards a game.

Absolutely NOT true. Outside of Martinez, very few were bitching about Banks. Just because you type it, doesn't make it true. Not sure how many could complain about the D, they were why we made the playoffs, not the offense. You bitch about what you wanna bitch about and I'll do the same. I don't need your advice on what to think. You do you and I'll do me. Can you understand that?

The offense has been **** the last few years, try to understand that!

Some folks act like the spring portal was full of impact players and that just isn’t the case. There are a few but not many. And we didn’t lose at ton in the portal in the spring. If we get Jakobe back that will be nice at safety. I would like to add a 2-3 but if we don’t that won’t be the end of the world. Our scholly reductions should be about freakin over after this year as well. GBO

I was throwing out a hypothetical element..it certainly has some factor in where a recruit wants to go.
I don't think it does as much as it used to. Most of them only care about the bag now. Miami has a $hitty campus, but it's hard to compete with their nightlife.

I’m usually the type to just look at Heups track record and remember where we were and not worry…but something doesn’t seem right. There was drama with Pope on social media. We lost a ton of players, especially at the WR position. 2026 recruiting has stalled and now they can’t get people to even visit or leave GA State?? I’m not saying that there is any reason to panic but I’m not going to shade the people who are complaining.

They had suprise losses in the Winter and by the time they went after players it was too late. The good ones mostly knew where they were going when they entered and they put too much into getting Tate which was unlikely.

I think relative to others Tennessee should have one of the biggest NIL surpluses considering what they didn't spend in the Winter and what they've freed up with the losses and especially the money saved from Nico too

Taking all that into consideration Tennessee should have enough money to at least buy one or two of the top prospects in the Spring. At least 1 WR and a DT

Then if Squirrel and Webb couldn’t be replaced in the Soring, they should have found a way to keep them.

I'm really curious to hear why Squirrel left. I still wonder if Nico may have told him what he was possibly planning. Or, the more likely scenario is Pope. I'm sure it will eventually come out.

The same people mostly who complain about him having transferred are the same ones who complained about him all the time last year when he was here.
