It's hard to get a read on what exactly has gone wrong here with all the innuendo and talk. Clearly, the buck stops at the top, but some issues may be fixable and others probably won't be. If Caldwell doesn't have the knowledge, temperament, and people skills to handle high D1 basketball, then this is all fruitless. If she's merely very, very green, then there's some optimism. I tend to lean to the former, but I don't know much of anything other than what I see and hear from a distance.

Until the players speak out more, we won’t know, but I trust the players. They have zero reason to collectively make up a big lie.

People point to last season as evidence that the problem must be with the players but forget that Latham, Boyd, and Wynn all wanted out this season (Wynn's situation was of course unique).

I would bet that there is no big smoking gun other than CKC not being a good people person. You can see some signs of that in her press conferences. She has a my way or the high way orientation.

I'll speculate that when things aren't going well, she tends to take it out on her players - hey "this is your fault for not running my system right! and that creates a me versus them dynamic, as demonstrated by that image of Coop burying her head in the jersey and CKC ignoring her.

I bet she delegated "the people stuff" to Gabe and Roman to focus on what she likes to do and then got mad, when the players were more connected to them than her.

White Danny going to let the program incinerate for a year, making the rebuild and attracting a top flight coach significantly harder and extremely more expensive, this is what he gave a chunk of baseball revenue share to? C'mon Danny think in the real world

Thank you for saying the quite part out loud. The fact that as of today no current player or current player in the portal has uttered one word of support for CKC is very telling. Everyone is bashing the players, but Iwill say this, as a HS player you do not get recruited from a power 5 school and offered a scholarship + NIL if you don't have a high basketball IQ and success against top tier talent. These kids DO know what bad coaching looks like and what good coaching looks like. They want a good coach to help them get to the WNBA.

If she was so bad how come mostly everyone that could come back last year came back this season?! The only two that didn’t return was the two who didn’t get much playing time. No players said anything negative about her. Hell they were giving her hugs and all.

In all the games I saw when things fell apart, players were not talking to her and she wasn't talking to them during games. They wern't cheering each other on. Body language shows they were checke out. If they like her so much according to you, why have they all left??

First and foremost where did I say they liked her so much? I stated they gave her hugs and all. Speaking of last seasons team. Now we can talk about this season after some post conference’s, they would say I love you to Coach Kim before they walked off to the locker room. Go back and check. Yeah they definitely checked out and that could be due to undermining, not wanting to play the system any longer, or a plethora of things. Who knows? I do know if she was such a bad coach we would have heard about it a long time ago from former players.

Some have spoken out and said that what was being reported about the assistant coaches was not true. Again so far they are mum on CKC. Maybe they will speak once they find a new school and everything is final. Evidently she has some major issues when it comes to relationships and coaching. This seasons record and now a mass exitous of players and coaches shows it.

White Danny may have been rejected at every turn with this meltdown as he was with the football hire, he was all in on James Franklin and came away with nothing, turned to his former coach at Central Florida and the jury is still out on that hire after coddling drama in pajamas for three years and millions in hard earned NIL, with big conference home losses

Coach Caldwell may be a symptom of a larger disease and it sits in the ADs office, the coaches that were here when he got here have done well, his hires have had success, but the football program is not an upper tier SEC program and women's basketball has not reached their depths yet with one returning player and a high profile commit that wants to decommit

Like I said before, I think she did something or said something this year that she couldn't walk back or she didn't try to walk back.
