I do a junior. I don't think he is a threat to anyone. He is a 19 year old angry kid upset with his girlfriend and spoke out of anger.. None of us have a clue what she said to him to provoke him either. His words are not premeditated, but spontaneous. Yeah he should not have said it, I bet he hasn't a clue what all he said.. Not the first time a angry person used a poor choice of words. You must also not have a kid at UT!
Actually there were several witnesses who heard it. One actually saw him, two heard him yelling it. It's all there in the police report. It would be easier to dismiss if it were one witness, but having multiple people hear it ratchets things up. There is zero tolerance these days for any comment regarding shooting up anything, especially a school. Priorities seem to lie with winning football games it appears, and not with dealing with idiots appropriately.
Making comments about shooting up a school is never a laughing matter and shouldn’t be ignored.
Sure, they’re just words now but can easily turn into legitimate action when you least expect it.
Really, Pruitt had no other choice here other than to suspend him.
Have you ever gotten mad at someone and yelled at them in the heat of the moment. Had he actually hit her, all bets are off. He took his anger out on an inanimate object. Speaking as someone who can have a temper that boils over. Yelling is sometimes a way to release the anger without getting physical with a person. I have punched a hole or two in a wall in times past. I know he is an athlete, but still a human. What in the **** is wrong with these knuckle-head athletes? Its ok to get mad at your girlfriend.....but just walk away. Not only do you **** yourself but you **** the team!
( yes the same 4 letter word works for ****)
Go Vols!!
The key is accused. Unless it is actually charged and convicted, it is complete heresay at this point. He is already convicted in the National media. They keep leaving off the very key word in this case. He is was arrested for MISDEMEANOR domestic assault. All you hear/read in the media blurbs is Domestic Assault.Except it's allegedly more than that. You can't threaten to shoot up a school. I'm not saying he actually said it, but he is accuesed. They can't not do anything until that's cleared, and I don't blame them.
I'm not disagreeing, but it would look absolutely horrible on the team and school if they allow him to play, then it's proven he did threaten that. The key is accused. Hence the indefinite suspension until the actual facts come out. As far as I know, we are still in an innocent until proven guilty country. We don't know for certain what the final charges are at this point.I'm not disagreeing, but it would look absolutely horrible on the team and school if they allow him to play, then it's proven he did threaten that.
Sadly the innocent until proven guilty doesn't work anymore. All it takes is an accusation, and someone can be ruined.Hence the indefinite suspension until the actual facts come out. Your wrong. In the report it says only one witness heard him say that. The others heard the slapping remarkActually there were several witnesses who heard it. The article says there were two witnesses who said they heard the "shoot up the school" statement and they were in the stairwell where it occurred. Pruitt may have no say in the matter if it is deemed likely that he actually said it. I hope he hasn't thrown away a great future with UT football but it certainly is a possibility. There was only one said witness who supposedly heard the "Shoot up school"... if the girl who he was arguing with didn't hear it....then it probably didn't happen.
Do you know that he exactly said that? From your comment , its sure does seem that way. I dont think he should play until he is cleared but you have no clue if he said it or notYes let’s just ignore he said I am going to shoot up the school! You obviously don’t have anyone you know attending UT right now!
Sorry add allegedly! If there is one witness that backs up the accusation then sadly he will have to be kicked off team and out of school!Do you know that he exactly said that?
