That is a ridiculous conclusion. He didn't physically assault anyone and he wasn't waving a gun around while threatening to "shoot up the school." This is pretty minor and he will, unfortunately, miss a game or three but as long as he keeps his nose clean we will forget all about it before seasons end.
Has he admitted to saying that? Last I heard, it was one witness saying they heard that...likely through the walls of their dorm room. Maybe he did say it, but there's nothing concrete yet...so maybe it doesn't help having so many folks talking about it as if it was an absolute fact.Don't oversimplify this. Everyone makes mistakes, I get it, but you can't threaten to shoot up a school and expect ZERO consequences.
Perfect comments. Saves face in two ways. Puts light on how the school holds its athletes and a second light on them ensuring the safety of all students. While also giving them room to conduct everything and at the end if nothing is viable they can state that they took all measures to ensure student safety etc.
From a legal perspective ,That is a ridiculous conclusion. He didn't physically assault anyone and he wasn't waving a gun around while threatening to "shoot up the school." Actually it’s the best given the situation. Waiting to get all the details then probably will be evaluated further. You don’t want to put other students at risk if he really is a threat. You don’t want to ruin his life if this was stupid mistake either. In either case, evaluation is the best course of action to help him and protect others. That isn't good.
