Most in the know believe the charges will be dropped, so until that happens he's letting the process play out and the right thing to do is sit Thompson. I believe Thompson will be back with team after this weekend and he will have some extra curricular activities during practice. How long will this thing take? If it has to be taken to court with witnesses testifying under oath, he can kiss this season goodbye.
His girlfriend found fake eyelashes that werent his in his room. When are these brothas gonna quit messin with these fake hoes?
I'm with you 100%. I think the law has been ammended to the point where the police are called to a domestic dispute an arrest has to be made these days and it's running about 90% the male is getting the short end of the stick. The wrongness imo, is a man being punished before it's proven that he's guilty of anything. Also I had an officer explain to me a new one "verbal assault". I honestly believe the officer made that up because I'd never heard of it. Hoping this blows over fast because it's BS.Don't give a damn about the so-called court of public opinion or mob rule for that matter. Last I checked, there's no such thing in the constitution and it's absolutely the WRONG decision. He's innocent until proven guilty...end of story.
We have individual/God given rights, and I know several who have died fighting for them. I will defend and argue for the right to be judged in a court of law vs the court of public opinion. If he's found guilty, suspend him or kick him off the team. Until that is proven in a court of law, he has the right to live his life as free men should.
And we should feel good about that because? If any part of this is true he should be bounced. Most in the know believe the charges will be dropped, so until that happens he's letting the process play out and the right thing to do is sit Thompson. That's not new at all or made up. In fact if I were to threaten you with a weapon in my hand (when I say weapon I mean anything from a stapler to say a nuclear middle) that's felony assault. I know this because I was once charged with it in the state of Georgia. I didn't have a weapon, never threatened anyone and neither of my "victims" wanted to press charges. Didn't stop me be arrested and sitting in jail for 9 months before it was all resolved. Georgia has the 7 deadly sins law which meant no bail for me. Had the same thing happened in TN I would have likely been out the next day and charges dropped. That's the one think this kid has on his side possibly. Then again I'm a nobody and he's a semi celebrity..someone might try to make a point here.I'm with you 100%. That is a ridiculous conclusion. He didn't physically assault anyone and he wasn't waving a gun around while threatening to "shoot up the school." This is pretty minor and he will, unfortunately, miss a game or three but as long as he keeps his nose clean we will forget all about it before seasons end.
Wow! Sorry you had to endure such a thing. That's not new at all or made up. If he out hands on her that's one thing (lock him up kick him off the team) but if this was just them being overheard arguing it's insane. Nothing they claim was said is even surprising in an argument between kids that age. People say dumb crap all the time. It sounds from what I've read in reports misuse of the hearsay law.
Nobody on this board would! And if this was a Florida Gator and all the circumstances were the same everyone on here would be saying he should be gone!aight..let's say someone was at your child/grandchild's school and they verbally threatened to 'shoot up the school'...are you going to let that slide?

If the charges are dropped then why should he be punished? Some of you are so quick to judge without knowing details of what actually happened. His GF, the only direct witness said she never heard him threaten the school. One person said they heard someone threaten the school but didn't see them and somehow was able to identify Thompson as the person who said it, do you really think that would hold up in a court of law?And we should feel good about that because? If any part of this is true he should be bounced.
