Hell yes!
It's that time again, Ladies and Gentlemen!

Another University of Tennessee coach bites the dust!
.For the unprecedented 4th time in A DECADE (10yrs), The powers that be have a very important task at hand!

SOON

Yep, XM radio said it will be 5 coaches in 11 years, I thought that couldn't be right, but it is. Btw, insider on AU247 is saying Petrino and I've heard that name tossed as well. Love him or hate him, he would win and win big at TN. He has won everywhere he has been. That is a big name.

While I hope for bigger, Mullen intrigues me more than he apparently does many here. I'm sure many here would love James Frankin. Mullen is doing at Miss State what Franklin did at Vandy. Except Miss State is historically a worse program than even Vandy and he's done it when the SEC West has been the best division in the history of college football.

Give Mullen resources and a recruiting draw like Franklin got at Penn State and I could see him fielding top 10 type teams.

First off barely above 500 in NFL is actually pretty good. He doesn't get to pay UMASS to come play him.

2nd, that defense was Monte Kiffins....the offense he inherited literally put up 30ish points TOTAL in 4 playoff games under Dungy.

Grudens offense tied the Dallas Cowboys for most points scored in a playoff stretch... Hint more per game that Dungy scored in 4 games...

Gruden had his hands tied due to no money available in the salary cap (something that was done before Gruden for there)

Everyone seems to forget that he played HIS Raiders in the Superbowl... His team he built vs the team he took over in the Superbowl.

All in all, he won his division 5 times out of 11 years coaching.

Speaking of Monte, it was clear he couldn't defend the spread, so that is one concern of Grud. He hasn't coached since 2009, CFB is totally different than pro. I think he could do it, but could Tn afford the assistants he wants to bring? He makes 7 mil plus now, have to offer him the biggest contract in CFB to get him. I think Harbaugh is 9 mil? Then 1 mil plus for both coordinators? Last time TN went full big name on a hire, any hire was Majors in 1977?

I can’t help but agree.

Before the Florida game Allie Laforce (side note.....😍) asked him how much they need this win. His response was “We need it bad.”

Butch would have pulled a “Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge” on that one.

Ahhhh, the five Ds of a Butch interview...

I just watched an interview with Ed O on the SEC network.

Say what you want about the man but he owns his screw ups. No cliches and spoke his mind. Seemed straight up.

It was refreshing

His interview was awesome. You can't wish anything but the best for him, likable guy for sure!

Wrong. Saban makes 11.125 million. Gruden currently makes 6.5 million. Why not just pay the big money up front? They're paying it in buyout money every few years anyways.

Plain and simple, if Gruden loves Tennessee as much as he lets on then all we would need to do is open up the checkbook to get him. You offer him an 8 mill contract which is fair for both sides, and I guarantee he will think long and hard about being Tennessee's next head coach.

I don't think we could get him, but I would be interested to see if we could get Lovey Smith from Illinois. I think Lovey would do great things here

He is more qualified to take over for Bob Kessling than Butch Jones.

Good Lord, could you imagine him broadcasting?

"That player Smith has shown a lot of maturation in his skills from where he was at last year. He's taken the mantle of leadership and showed great resiliency to get past those defenders and into the checkerboards. Touchdown, Vols."

Last night Gruden was commenting on the trick 2 pt conversion play the Bears used saying he'd never seen it and he has to put it in his offense...

By his offense he means UT's offense clearly!

It's happening...

Im with you, but it would be a lot easier if the NFL would do their part and keep it out from their end...

I'm not a mod and no one has to do what I say in this thread. Ya'll can post whatever you want. I would like to see this place continue to be a fun and positive place where we can joke around through a tough time but if we start getting overly political, y'all ain't gonna like me very much. I like to think that here we can take a break from that stuff and unite behind one common goal even if it is simply something insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

Alot of folks who have thought it an impossibility that Gruden is an option are hearing exactly the opposite right now. Some things are changing on the Hill.

SOON!
