I just watched an interview with Ed O on the SEC network.

Say what you want about the man but he owns his screw ups. No cliches and spoke his mind. Seemed straight up.

It was refreshing

I can’t help but agree.

Before the Florida game Allie Laforce (side note.....😍) asked him how much they need this win. His response was “We need it bad.”

Butch would have pulled a “Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge” on that one.

Because it requires zero thought, he is and will not come here and neither will Chip. It is next to impossible to get them out of the announcing jobs once they take a break.

Tee Martin
Frank Wilson
D.J. Durkin

In that order.

That's a great list if you're a MAC team

Might as well keep Butch if this is the best Tn can get

We would want to hire Gruden because we would automatically go from having a coach whose knowledge of the game is bottom 3rd of the SEC to probably best in the SEC. He had more success in the NFL than Saban or Spurrier. His sole purpose of existence is football.

But...he's not coming here.

Hell yes!
It's that time again, Ladies and Gentlemen!

Another University of Tennessee coach bites the dust!
.For the unprecedented 4th time in A DECADE (10yrs), The powers that be have a very important task at hand!

SOON

I dislike Butch probably as much as anybody, but sadly this is the way I'm starting to feel. If all we can get is another "up-and-comer" or mid major, I feel like we might as well keep the devil we know.

Fresh tendrils to The Nation. Been watching from afar. I must say this ghost of Gruden is rattling chains in my noggin. Been reading posts here getting excited, then pissed, then ecstatic, then realizing this crap has almost taken over my Gruden.

Hi

I've always had mixed feelings about Gruden. He actually dismantled a champion in Tampa.

Not really. The core he inherited was already aging (all 7 of their Pro Bowlers in 2002 were at least 28, and they had 9 overall starters who were in their 30s). Dungy had built a great team, but it was also somewhat of a house of cards as the Buccaneers had several bad drafts leading up to 2002 and you might have to go as far back as 1997 to find an actual star in any of those classes.

Never developed a QB there and had poor relationships with some.
He didn't fail to develop QBs there, he just never made a large investment in one. Most of the QBs they started during Gruden's tenure exceeded expectations.

I'm hoping Currie gets the heck out of the way on this. To let this slip away over AD ego again would be asinine! We can't seem to get two things that match together! Cereal...no milk. Coolaid...no sugar. Gruden...no AD with more brains than ego. Geez!

Let me preface this post by saying up front that I know I can gtfo, no one cares, I'm not a real fan, etc. etc. etc.

That being said, I'm not necessarily saying it's Gruden or bust but if they screw this up and either don't fire Butch or fire him and attempt to shove another bargain bin hire down our throats, I believe I am done.

Seriously, as much as I hate to say it, I think I will walk away and find something less futile to invest my time in.

Last time they hired a big name and didn't go cheap? Johnny Majors in 1977?
