Official Jon Gruden Thread XVII

If he's still on the show this morning then I can only assume he's coming back for a another beating by Bama.

Poster on TOS says Butch Jones has accepted his fate and has told his family he doesn't know if he will be the coach at Tennessee on Monday. Also said him and Currie will be meeting this morning, which he gave a disclaimer saying it wasn't unusual for them to do so.

So....Currie enjoyed the weekend conversation with Gruden, encouraging!

Gruden is afraid to take the TN Coaching Job. It would demolish his image of being a great coach.

Foolish non believer.

Maybe Gruden is waiting for recruiting to fully tank and another historic loss or two.

That way when Gruden restores us to glory there is no doubt of his coaching legend.

It’s pretty obvious that Butch had the understanding that yesterday’s game was his last stand. It was for that reason alone that JG started. It was also the reason why we actually had a little creativity on offense...for one quarter.

Whether he is gone tomorrow or not doesn’t really matter. His time at Tennessee is over.

I just don’t know what is scarier: an interim going to Tuscaloosa or a lame duck head coach who knows he’s a lame duck head coach going to Tuscaloosa.

Anyone that's half a coach beats SC by at least 3 TD's yesterday. IMO he just didn't care. He just looked like he had given up already

Starting to lose too many recruits, at this point, they are probably eager to get something announced. It might even be something along these lines. "I have decided to resign from my post as the Tennessee HC; my resignation will be affective immediately following the Alabama game." I'm not a fan of him NOT coaching the Alabama game, this also would have any recruits taking a pause in their thought to bolt....to see what move we make next.

I dont really care about This Bama game.
It will be a nationally televised public flogging on CBS.
Saban can name score by running it up or resting starters.

What I care about right now is what is going thru the heads of our big donors, Currie, Peyton, etc. as the primary decision makers on what comes next.
Who do we target and how much money and control are we willing to give someone?

Just woke up and had to read through 20 pages. Seems like the night crew got derailed by the troll.

Anyways, looking forward to watching the Jon Gruden Show today

Doubt any announcements would be made today. If he is let go, I assume the press conference/formal announcement would be Monday morning.

Illated94 has deactivated his twitter page again. He tweeted something about the announcement being leaked late last night or early a m. I hate this waiting.

My Facebook today says that this is no mere coincidence!....

How many here have ever tried Grape nuts? Those commercials would make my mouth water... and I would have to buy a box and try them.. and they taste like cardboard every time. Lol

Couldn't put enough sugar in them to make em taste good.

Speaking of sugar.. frosted flakes? Oldie but a goodie.

its like eating small rocks

Been following VN several years and never posted until this year. I supported Jones until the FL game. I now see the light, please forgive me for holding out. However, Jones did help to start rebuilding the program (i.e., laid the foundation, but never started laying the brick by brick), but his time has come. I also provided my thoughts on new HC options in another thread. But jeez, after reading this one...you all made me rethink my original HC options...I now also say Gruden or bust!!! Hopefully he will be Tennessee's new "sheriff"...SOON?

Said no competitor ever. Get out of here with that afraid crap. Most coaches would look at this as an opportunity to go down as a legendary coach that won a Super Bowl and a college national championship. You actually think someone like Gruden is afraid of competition?
