He talked about the last thing he saw before he lost his sight was the Sugar Vols. Said the next day, he lost his sight and he became a super fan after that.
Stated that it was apparent that no one cares about the fans, and he was about to the point of not caring as well.
I am not doing his call justice, but it was something else.
I feel a lot like that caller talking about the last thing he saw was the Sugar Vols. Been a Vol fan since childhood, became more of one when I got to college and finally went to an actual game. Will never forget first time in Neyland. Fall is not fall without UT football in my home. Liscense plate is vol slogan even.
When my brother, huge Vol fan, died a few years ago, Tennessee football became even more important to me. It is sadly but honestly my strongest connection to a person very loved and missed. I have all his Vol memorabilia and clothes. Missing him is actually why I signed up here. Two of his 3 girls remember their dad as a Vol fan probably more than anything else because the color orange stood out to them at their young ages.
Continuing that die hard Vol Fan role has been a part of their Dad I can give my neices, but today that seems harder to do. I actually got a little weepy listening to that podcast. They better turn this around eventually or my neices will miss out on so much of what their Dad wanted them to experience. I have been promising them when they get just a bit older, I will take them all to a game. At least now it might be easier to accomplish logistically and financially if the coach and hence team sucks, I guess. But I too am down about all this crap more than I care to admit. Cannot imagine life not being a Tennessee Vol. Don't want to. But no money from me either until things change. Emails sent again, now with what I typed here included. Left out the heartstrings initially.
I said it's great to be a Tenneesee Vol 🏉🏉🏉 those were the days! May they come again. . . .
