Just had an associate in the AD call me. I still owe $10k for my pledge for the remaining of the 2017 year. He also asked me if I wanted to pledge more. I kindly told him no, and I also told him that I would not be making the $10k either until something changed in the AD and our football program. He then stated that I was already committed to making the pledge and then he was just simply reminding me. I told him to please tell Currie, that I was simply reminding him that I didn't sign anything on the additional pledge and to remind him his days were numbered. He said ok, and would make a note.

I wonder how many are going to hold off on pledged amounts.

Correct me if I’m wrong (Long time lurker here) but isn’t this the same guy you won tickets to his box seats? Can you shed any light on who he is or at least his role in all of this?

Yes it’s the same guy. I’m not going to out the guy after he did something like he did for me and my family, but I can say I don’t see many people having more pull than him.

Just to put in perspective of how dumb and out of touch Currie is...EVERYONE AND THIER BROTHER ON THIS BOARD even said that if chip Kelly got offered the UCLA job and they fired Jim mora that he would indeed bolt for the west coast,he was stringing along the Florida fan base just waiting for that to open up,dan Mullen was not UF first choice but they got their number 2 guy!..while dip**** Currie was relaxing in the Bahamas on a free trip he assumed he had Mullen and took it easy now look where we are we can't even get the 7th and 8th guy on the list...FIRE CURRIE

This! This! Exactly this!

Currie had three days in the Bahamas to decide who he wanted according to the Vol Nugs tweet....even assuming that is true. Did he not vet Schiano? It’s no shocker Kelly went to UCLA. Or Mullen to FL. Besides, any decent businessman will tell you, if you have a great candidate who wants the job and you want him, hire him now. Don’t sit on it while he interviews elsewhere. He is an idiot.

No, the only scenario anything fits in is if it was Schiano all along. Currie did nothing to manage fan expectations and could have shut down Gruden at the butch conference. They thought Schiano was a slam dunk. Honestly, it is beyond inept. It’s so embarrassing.

I know nothing right now. I know there is a huge power struggle. That’s really it.

I would love to hear a breakdown of who this power struggle involves. Other than a few media folks alluding to a small faction of folks upset with Currie, I haven't seen anything.

Kind of an odd time to be asking for money with this sh!t show, ain’t it? Wonder if their trying to see how much money they have for those renovations.

Hat’s off to you. This is what is needed to make this most change.

Good morning, folks.

Life in orbit of the University of Tennessee athletics sucks right now.

But life elsewhere is kinda good. My old man's chemo treatments continue to go well, my sister's auto-immune disease seems under control, my wife didn't have have to spend hours tutoring students late into the evening yesterday, neither of my daughters have begun taking drugs, gotten pregnant, or flunked out of university (that I'm aware of), and our cat hasn't gacked up a furball anywhere I've stepped so far this morning.

Things are really looking up.

Good morning. :)

Of course not. Haslam told Currie to make the hire and that's what he was doing. Currie is weak and needs to go.

Media isn’t going to call out or embarrass Haslam until it is safe to do so.

I think we got one of those calls too. It was just a missed call on my cell phone. It was from the Tennessee Fund Office and they left no message. Interesting.

Again, PV was right on all accounts. Like he said, it was definitely an exciting day yesterday and way more public than ever before. He also was the first to say Gundy said no (hours before it was ever reported). He called Beav. out when he said they were working on having a coach public coach say something (later confirming he was talking about Gruden today on Golic) today, saying that he needed to stop making these claims and giving false hope because he could assure us all Gruden was NOT going to do that. I don’t think he is against Beav because he also said that he appreciates all he’s done publically because it has helped a lot but he needed to cease making those kind of claims about Gruden and what “their” trying to accomplish.

Just as a reminder can you tell who PV is? Is that a name on here?

I'm beyond Gruden at this point. If you can't attract a reputable coach by offering to double their salary, you aren't going to get any coach worth a darn.

This AD is completely and utterly hopeless and the atmosphere they, yes trolls, THEY created by trying to sneak in a sub par coach is like being inside the reactor room at Chernobyl.

There is 1 coach who could win here and would take this job. If he were to come and admit he's sorry for how he left things and wants to make things whole again, in time all wounds would heal.
We would take a beating initially but that would pass and I really lot believe it's our best move. Can not bring in a mcgoogle special! Jmo

^^^^^this

Thats all ive heard of substance. A small faction of folks upset with Currie and maybe Haslam is not a huge power struggle.

And he has proven himself right...by leaving the SEC (less than 2 months after that prediction) so he doesn't have to play Saban any more.

Here, let me emulate Lane: "Nick Saban has beaten me for the last time, too!" [just as true]

Heh, talk is cheap. Talk from Lane Kiffin is even cheaper.

Yea, I wasn't saying hire Lane. I guess I should have been more descriptive.

It would be nice to have someone with confidence that he can beat whoever is on top and is not afraid to make that known.

I know of at least one. Haha. In March, is when they really start calling and gathering the donations. That is when they will be hit the hardest and come to a realization if this hire is botched. From the people I have talked to and my family included, we wont be renewing or donating any more. That is around 38 tickets both in Terrace and lower sideline. Do the math quickly. 38 tickets roughly $5k a pair, that's $100k almost. May not be as big as some large level boosters, but that's a chunk from the middle guys!

The Big $ Boosters I would hope follow your lead.
