Man, I would love to be AD. Pretty sure I'd do a better job than John Currie or either of his recent predecessors. Would be a fun challenge. :)

Doyle, I'd even hire you to be coach...of something. :)

I agree on Kiffin, but it's just too damn hard for my stubborn hard head to accept. I walked away from a woman I loved and probably shouldn't have, but, years and years later no matter how much it would make it maybe best?(can't think of another word) for me, I can't do it, just can't go back after you make a decision that keeps your pride and some simple dignity for why you made the decision in the first place.

I don't fault Kiffen for leaving, it was how he did it that makes me think he'll never be truly acceptable here.

I think it is starting to happen. The problem I think, and others as well, is we haven't hit them where it hurts yet, the money. We are not pledging and donating right now, but it will take some time, 6 -12 months, for them to actually see that. The feeling is, they will see ticket sales down next year, and will blame that on Butch being fired and not a good season, when in reality, we are tired of supporting this crap. That is the problem we are dealing with. We need not only the money to stop, but messages as to why it stopped, and really make them feel it. No way this Reno can be funded with just the top people, they won't solely do it, already been stated to us. I want to make it so Currie (if still around) has to come out and admit that its delayed due to funding. That will be the nail in the coffin I think.

Everyone please think for a minute. The thinking that we hire the best we can get and go on is not acceptable. When we are looking at people being acceptable now when they weren't in the top 10-15 a week ago is wrong.
When you hire someone of that level they are here for 3-4 years(ANOTHER possible buyout) the team will be right back where it was as far as recruiting before Butch, so even if it's a good hire then you're looking at another 2-3 years to be able to compete again. If you TRULY believe that will be a great hire then I have to question your sanity.
We have the team much better from a recruiting standpoint than before Butch. I want everyone to listen closely EVERY BAD HIRE SETS THE TEAM BACK 3-5 years! So I guess everyone but me is willing to support another 3-5 years of this and believes with all their heart the Next one will be great.
Only if Currie is gone BEFORE the hire will I ride the stupid train again. JMO

I said from the get go they are detrimental to the fan base. You extrapolated from that statement that I meant they are THE reason for our current state of affairs. That's a stretch and not what I intended at all. I wish you'd just accept that you assumed wrong and we call it a day. Again, good day to you :hi:
