I'm glad this came out, I was never sold on Gruden until I trusted the so called "insiders" go get Mora or Strong and let's get this program on the right track

Hart passed on gruden cause he promised smart along time ago that he'd get him in. lol, if he announces smart as hc, I will be utterly conviced of this and will burn a mattress on his front lawn...either that or ring his doorbell and run on a nightly basis

THANK YOU....you made me laugh for the first time in almost 24 hours. I needed that :)

It amazes me that our illustrious AD and all the media gets word out there that Gruden was never our top target... WELL THEN WHO IN THE CRAP IS OUR TOP TARGET AND WHAT HAVE WE BEEN DOING FOR THE LAST WEEK? I guess Hart has been in his office trying to telepathically get in touch with some 3rd tier coach that will probably excite no one in the fan base. If they truly didn't want Gruden, which I do not for a second believe, then why weren't they saying that to knock down the frenzy that was building. All I know is Hart better reach somewhere way up his sleeve or under some other article of clothing and pull out a winner that the fan base can also get behind. Most of the names I am hearing thrown around (or up) have the excitement of toe fungus.

I dont know how much more clear i can say this...Grudens contract ended in 2011....IF he is owed money, it is only because he agreed to defer some of it. They can not put stipulations on what he can, or cant do after his contract ends...if this was the case, he would have never agreed to defer any of it....there is no sticking it to TB anymore...his contract has been up for almost a full 12 months

Contract may have been up for 12 months, but they fired JG and he had a hefty buyout and this is what is being talked about "buyout payments"

From my perspective, until Strong or Fedora or Fisher walk through that door and step behind the podium while wearing an orange tie and a Power T lapel pin........

Gruden 2012

I may need to take a brake from this. I was just watching "Water Boy"' and Dan Patrick has a cameo as himself on Sportscenter. I heard his voice and looked up - waiting for him to give an update on TN/Gruden.

So did all the "OG's" get sent to banned camp?

I wouldn't consider myself to be an "OG", per se, but I can understand why they may have decided to stay away from this site for a day or two. Let's face it, Tennessee has a very passionate fan-base and when something upsets them, they will, and do, place blame on people to take out their frustrations and have no problem being quick to point a finger. They probably just don't want to deal with all of the stresses that would be included with things like that.

Now, I can't speak for them, but I believe some still believe what they're told. I know for myself, I still believe 100% what I've been told and what I've relayed to you all. Referring to my first post, coaching searches are dynamic; there is no outlined blue-print as to who announces what and when they announce it.

I wouldn't push to ask these guys questions. As upset as some of you might be, what they've done in sharing their information with you was overly generous, as it is absolute fact that some of what they had to say was true. They could have kept it to themselves and not offered it to any of you and you would be left in the dark. They deserve a thanks, and the benefit of the doubt until someone other than Jon Gruden is hired as the Head Coach.

New LWS cliff notes post says Haslam wasn't in the Gruden camp, as in, not pushing for him to be hired.

The plot thickens.

seems like there is a massive move to cut the connection of the boosters from Gruden. just saying. Haslam wasnt in Gruden camp?? Goes from offering him share of the Browns supposedly to not in his camp. Stuff like this makes me think, Game is ON. LWS is solid with AD hopefully he is doing work to clean up the image that the boosters hired Gruden.:whistling:

This thing was so close to being booked. Did Hart really think he could cut it off and not have the big $$$ rip him a new one? Lot's of people talk about Jim Haslam with the money, but Bill as chair of the BOT has more than just $$ behind him. Forget him being Gov, he has more influence over Hart than Cheek.

I do not believe this is dead. If there any any open window left in this deal, Hart will get his butt chewed by the powers that be, and he will go back to Gruden with his tail between his legs and cave in. The only other option is Hart going down in flames to a pit of shame, caused by his own ego.

Excellent post. What I worry about now though is some of them just saying screw it, let the place turn to #$#@, letting Hart go down in flames when he announces Strong and then sees the stadium half full next year.

The university has shown their true colors to Gruden. He doesn't need this. Hopefully once he cools down Peyton or someone can talk him back into it. My biggest fear though is Gruden, despite his love for the place and the folks who got him in the 1st place, is just done with it regardless thinking it's more trouble than its worth. My opinion of LaMonte's comments today were all about Hart - basically calling him out as a nobody.

Top target is Jeff Stoutland. Bama Oline coach. Hart swinging for the fences.
