Nico to UCLA?

What ever we pay. 2 mil. 4mil.

Was just a hypothetical. The point is, the next guy we bring in is probably chasing a bag also. Sure you might get some guy looking for playing time, but a lot of those guys in the portal are more likely looking to get paid.
Might be we go for a backup or guy from a lower level. That would be reasonable and completely different. Personally, I don't see an established starter jumping into this situation if he's got a shot at the NFL. Everyone else knows this is their shot to bank serious money so they'll jump at the right number. Sad state, but folks clamored for players to get their bags. They got the game they asked for. Can't be hypocrites and complain about it now.

Here’s what you must do. If a player goes on strike, “sits out”, “quiet quits”, you must fire him permanently. Paying blackmail obviously causes more blackmail. You can’t ever pay even one nickel for holding out. It’s not sustainable.

Salary amount is not important. Refusing to work for your salary is absolutely critical.

I’ll take 1985 Tony Robinson all day long over Peyton.

That program was humming by 1889 and up, which was. well before Manning came into the fold.

edit:
Getting tired of Vols fans that feel like somehow Peyton is the best “college” quarter back to ever play for UT.
T. Rob was the best UT QB I’ve ever seen. No disrespect to Peyton or others in saying that.

This is just slander. He was one of the few that fought the entire game. Say what you want about how this NIL stuff went down, but as a player, he isn't scared and gave it his all. Don't be petty.
Ok fine, tell me one game Nico won where the qb made the difference and a loss would have occurred without him. I might have overlooked one but can’t remember one. I still remember Hooker against Bama but not a Nico one.

Agreed. Until he went down with that knee injury the dude was a baller, never out of anything.
went down he was sandwiched between to alabama players. That team was smoking hot. Dickey came in threw a pick and at that point never threw another. that team would have easily won a CFP.

I got a ask this question. Haven't heard anyone mention it.

So we let Nico walk because he wanted more money. We cheered, everyone said we did the right ect ...ect...ect.

But we gonna pay 4mil for another qb? How you gonna trash Nico when the guy you bring in is doing the same thing?
Nico's play on the field was not WORTH $4M. If it was, we would have paid....but it wasn't....add to that the drama, skipping practice, threatening to not play the CFP game, and whatever other drama he was causing in the locker room, and he REALLY wasn't worth it.

Moral of the story is do not hold people hostage looking for more money. Eventually, it will catch up with you and they will call your bluff.

The difference is that we parted ways with Nico because he chose not to show up for practice and went dark in the midst of his camp trying to blackmail us for the SECOND TIME in 4 months. Josh and D White were fed up with the drama from Nico and Daddy and I don’t blame them one bit. He had to go.

I don’t think any of these QB’s that we are considering are blackmailing us into paying them. Whether any of us like the system or not is irrelevant. It’s the game that has to be played. We need a 3rd QB and this is the mechanism to get one. (And I’m pretty sure we aren’t paying $4 million either.) Personally I don’t like anything about this mess but it is what it is.

Wat? How the hell would anyone know that? They could have lost them all for all we know.

But regardless, that has nothing do with your post. You said he wouldn’t play because he would be sick or scared? Makes no sense

The more I waste valuable time thinking about this, the more I come to realize that Club Nico's is a living, breathing version of an online mobile game.

That situation may be the biggest “what if!?” of my Tennessee sports fandom. I always wonder what would’ve happened with him if he didn’t have that injury, and then of course, the trouble that came afterwards. That kind of injury would be a much easier recovery in this day and age.

And what if Rohan Davies had not gotten injured in the 2001 SEC Championship game.

So I am taking it the Nico to UCLA was just a rumor?
I think there is definitely something there, but I also think we always need to keep in mind that his people are putting a whole bunch of junk out there to try to drive up his value. It’s clear they are trying to entice other teams. I think they are likely, reaching out two other schools telling them about a UCLA offer and trying to get them to top it. I will not say the first part of the phrase, but I will say that they are “finding out”.

No one knows how much input Nico did or didn't have in this situation. What I see is a young man who seems to be the exact opposite of his father. Combine that with the recognition of his culture and it's not so hard to imagine why his personality is how it is. Gotta wonder if the young man is even happy playing the game?

I'll always remember coming back to campus after the 1985 Christmas break and someone in North Carrick had this in their dorm window overlooking Presidental Courtyard:

"T Rob had a White Christmas"

I think you may be having a similar Good Friday thinking he was that great
