Nico to UCLA?

Regarding UCLA offense and Oline ^^^

This post paired with the one above pretty much sums up what Nico is up against IF....IF in fact UCLA is actually gonna sign him. That fact is suspect now apparently. Neither of these posts are suspect though, they are indeed factual.

I honestly feel sorry for Nico. I think his dad rules that family with an iron fist, and his dad "negotiated" Nico into throwing away a QB1 job at a playoff SEC school...which is actually priceless...AND cost him about $10M or more between NIL and his wage fixed rookie 3 year NFL contract. Rookie contracts are dictated by draft position under the NFL CBA, so when Nico gets drafted as a "project" in the mid to late rounds instead of a 1st or 2nd rounder which he was poised to be after making even mediocre improvement over last years numbers at UT....it will cost him several Million dollars a year for 3 years. $10M difference in the next 4 years is probably being kind. Nicos dad/family absolutely screwed him. He should have stood up to them and stayed at UT.
Holy smokes - I hadn't even thought about the NFL CBA ramifications.

Nico will have to go to a CFP contender, get the starting job in the next year or two, AND have decent numbers to be considered in the 1st round...even then GMs will ask 'How much baggage am I taking on?'

Hom and his Daddy just missed out on a boat load of cash.

Apparently they havent accepted UCLAs offer yet. The arrogance of Nicos dad is only beat by his incompetence.
My good friend, Forrest Gump…some of you may know him, once said, “stupid is as stupid does!” I’m guessing someone’s dad hasn’t taken ole Forest Gump’s sage wisdom to heart yet.

Would serve them right if UCLA pulls their offer
Oh, I would hate to see that. (Blue font)

In all seriousness, I put most all of this on his dad. I bet if Nico could come back to Tennessee for 2.4 million and stay there for the next year or two he would do it in a heartbeat. Dad ain’t gonna allow that. That’s admitting defeat and a massive mistake.

Probably will make a bit more than that but the cost of living will eat up more than that.

Worse Oline also at UCLA so his chance of injury also goes up. He also looks terrible in this whole fiasco if he goes pro next year.

If he stayed at Tennessee, he makes more money, has better talent surrounding him, and likely gets drafted higher. Vols also have an extensive network if pros didn’t work out for him: ex players that aren’t complete morons can always get a job and have support. Just mind boggling how stupid this whole deal was.

I’ve quoted that movie several times a day since I turned 40. The quite I say every 30 minutes is
“I gotta go pee”
