NFL.com combine grades/results

He'll have another shot to improve the workout warrior stuff at UT's Pro Day. Think he interviewed well. His game tapes and Senior Bowl are in his favor also.

JJ is one of those players that the Patriots pick up and turn into an "All World" player. Then everyone say's "Where did he come from". The Patriots have a knack of finding the diamond in the rough.
Scary thought of JJ in Patriots uni. Not a NE fan, but it would be interesting to see Juan in Belichek' s system.

There is no WR in the HoF who ran sub 4.3. Yet every year some people fall in love with the 40 time. I mean is 4.7 really THAT much slower than 4.5? Yet a lot of GMs will dismiss JJ because of those .2 seconds. 40 time is overrated.

DWA is worse than I expected, but it’s been pretty obvious that both guys were slow. Hopefully, JJ’s physicality will get him drafted late. DWA probably just ran himself into begging somebody to invite him to training camp.
JJ's 4.7 wasn't as surprising as DWA's time. I mean some olinemen will beat that.

I would love to see him wind up in a 49ers or Ravens uniform. Those seem like the ideal landing spots for him because of their physical offensive styles.

DWA is at least a big guy, so maybe he still gets a shot. I thought it was pretty impressive for a 261 lb guy to get a 35” vertical.

Jennings, my brother, what happened? Nobody expected Jennings to light up this event, but a 29” vertical jump is hard not to notice. Add to that an ugly 9’1” broad jump and you wonder if the guy has ever left the ground in his life. He followed all that up with a 4.73 40-yard dash. Definitely not the type of night he needed to help his stock in a loaded class.

Kirby was trying to recruit him as a DB back in the day. Looking at those numbers that kind of makes sense but I will argue nobody is better at getting to a ball than he is.

Almost like he hasn’t trained at all for the combine

Hate to say it...........but that explains a lot.
Disagree on Jennings. Quality NFL player.
Agree. We know and love these players because they’re our guys. But the fact that our only upperclassmen get these types of NFL grades speaks to our deficit of top level talent on the roster the last few years. As you said, it explains a lot. Hope they’re each able to follow in Coleman and Moseley’s footsteps and find a lot of success in the nfl after their college careers and pretty getting looked over by scouts.

Wasn’t it just a few years back that Michael Palardy had the best or second best 40 time at UT’s pro day? Now that is a low point for the program.

After the kickoff of the first game Combine results are only good for defending a bust

Randy Moss begs to differ

While before 40's became a big thing I find it extremely likely Bob Hayes would have been a sub-4.3 guy. Hell, if he time warped into today's combine it's entirely conceivable he would break the 40 record.
