New commit - OL Riley Locklear

It's funny how people get wrapped up in the number of stars. You can only have 10-15 kids in the country be a 5*.

For a while, I used to think Fade know something about the games of football, but he seems to have forgotten much of what he knew. The star rates will change for a lot of players between now and February with some going up and others going down. Right now Fade's rating is going down.

Georgia is matching your 3*s with their 4*s.

It doesn't matter with Ga. They have more talent than most teams in the country and still seem to lose enough games to miss winning the SEC championship game every year. For some reason, offensive players do NOT make the best head coaches. Smart will go down in flames, kinda like another DC who failed at UF and will fail at USCa.

I'm okay with this 3* pick up.He's s big boy. I'm just surprised we haven't picked up a big name rb after our past two seasons. We are pretty young and set at WR and DB for a couple a cpl of years. Maybe if we land Chandler, I'd feel better about this class. But yes, welcome aboard Riley.

According to 24/7, we have 2 recruits listed as 4*......2. Same as Kentucky. Bama has 10, UGA has 9, and UF has 5. It's actually worse than a big yawn right now, it's a big dud.

Okay then how about you put their jersey on and get off this site? Either trust the coaches or leave!

An unfortunate by-product of today's vast sports interface, is the hyped up over dramatization of the LT spot. Yes, for most QBs it's the blind side but there is another tackle spot that needs as much production. When Cade Mays committed the debate popped up when he was projected as a dominant mashing RT. Some depicted that as a slap...that he could play LT. Sure they CAN. Sometimes it's a matter of if someone else can play LT adequately but CAN not play RT as well as a gifted teammate. That legendary OL that earned 3 SB rings and paved the path to Emmitt Smith becoming the all-time leading rusher, had the less physically gifted Mark Tuinei manning LT while Erik Williams (pre-car wreck) dominated and mauled and physically punished on the right. Guarantee he would've been great on Aikman's blind side but Tuinei wouldn't have been anywhere near the roadgrader opposite side. I suspect that's the same scenario on Riley's team.

Agree. Well said Butchy Old Boy, great example as well.

Plus, run-heavy highschool teams are often "right-handed" and like to run to their strong side. I don't know for certain, but I'd guess that could also be the case here for Riley.

If we can pull T Smith and then have Mays on deck, we are moving in the right direction. Jones and Richmond are doing well and with these guys potentially coming in, we will be replacing and adjusting at a good pace. You put this kid in a year of college strength training, diet, and technique training, he will be at 300+ and pancaking...

So if Georgia averages 33% more stars per player than UT does and we beat them (like last year) what does that say about Tennessee football?

Furthermore... If Alabumfukt averages 4.5-5.0 stars per player player to Tennessee's 3.5 stars and we stomp a mudhole in them this year ... what does that say about Bummer football?

There's a decent chance that happens this year.

Richmond played RT for his team, so that jibes with your point. :salute:

I for one am tickled that a young man wants to commit to Tennessee, and I hope this one works out. However let's look at Saban for a moment, for the life of me I have no idea how he pulls in the players he does, its almost to the point of pathetic. Nevertheless even with his slight narcissistic personality he has for the last several years pulled in huge classes. I do not see any huge difference in his coaching compared to his opponents, he just lines up his best and goes at it, and his best has been 4 and 5 star recruits. I wish I could ignore recruitment rankings but honestly I believe it's a factor in our outcome, just my two cents, I do not chat much until closer to the season but this hit me to speak up. Anyway I hope this recruit is a hidden gem for the Vols.
Do you really have to a$k how satan does it?

It says that in the last 6 years in this rivalry, you won one time against Georgia, barely, with Richt in control.

It says that in the Alabama rivalry we are going for 10 in a row. There's a more than "decent " chance what you hope doesn't happen.

What part of talent plus results are you struggling with?

Good pick up IMO. These kids haven't even played thier senior season and could move up in ratings. Some of you guys kill me with recruiting worship.

Georgia has beaten us "barely" in the last 3 times they won against us. Does the Pig Howard fumble bring back any memories? Tyler Bray fumbling on the game winning drive? Justin Worley getting hurt when we were about to pull away from UGA in the 3rd quarter? The wins UGA has had against us have been off of luck not because they were the better team. Alabama is different story they just have straight up kicked our ass the last 9 years. (except 2009 yall muthaf***** got lucky as hell)
