Great to hear that Riley has chosen UT. I believe in Butch, he knows how to choose the best players that have a good future ahead. His film looks good, he has great size, and also a lot of other good programs want him.

Can someone remind me how many stars did our All-SEC freshman, honorable mention ALL American OT Chance Hall have?

Previous CBJ 3* OL commits. Chance Hall, Dylan Weissman, Jay Robertson, Coleman Thomas... need I go on?

I wouldn't waste my time, some people will never get it, and if they do they won't admit it cause they wouldn't have anything to ***** about then.

I like his size, always nice to have a OT that is 6-5 or taller and has long arms. 285 is a good High School weight too. Seems to be a good get.

A couple of questions though:

1. Why didn't WV offer him?
2. Why is he playing RT? ...Left handed QB, more comfortable or 2nd best OL on High School team.

His coach said he only started playing on the OL during last season. Before that he had been a TE and commented on how good his feet were. Also he reported that Riley is now 6'6. One of the vol reporters also said he might have been rated higher except he didn't make the camp circuit.

Agree.... Our best corner on the team was a 3*
And it's a pretty good team..:)

2. Why is he playing RT? ...Left handed QB, more comfortable or 2nd best OL on High School team.

An unfortunate by-product of today's vast sports interface, is the hyped up over dramatization of the LT spot. Yes, for most QBs it's the blind side but there is another tackle spot that needs as much production. When Cade Mays committed the debate popped up when he was projected as a dominant mashing RT. Some depicted that as a slap...that he could play LT. Sure they CAN. Sometimes it's a matter of if someone else can play LT adequately but CAN not play RT as well as a gifted teammate. That legendary OL that earned 3 SB rings and paved the path to Emmitt Smith becoming the all-time leading rusher, had the less physically gifted Mark Tuinei manning LT while Erik Williams (pre-car wreck) dominated and mauled and physically punished on the right. Guarantee he would've been great on Aikman's blind side but Tuinei wouldn't have been anywhere near the roadgrader opposite side. I suspect that's the same scenario on Riley's team.

We are taking a lot of 3 stars. Most of them i'm excited about. We really need to get Darrian Felix kid out of Florida. Perfect for our offense.

This kid is has great tools to work with. His body is already ahead of most kids his age. He can move too.

Love this pickup.

The most important thing about recruiting is that WE GET THE KIDS THAT FIT WHAT WE DO.
Butch has done that.

According to 24/7, we have 2 recruits listed as 4*......2. Same as Kentucky. Bama has 10, UGA has 9, and UF has 5. It's actually worse than a big yawn right now, it's a big dud.

According to my calendar, it's not February yet. Calm down

I realize three stars can become stars in the sec, but you will never win a championship if they compose the majority of your roster. This trend can not continue if championships are our goal. Nothing against this particular individual but this three star thing is becoming a habit. Starting to remind me of when we tried to justify Dooley's recruits. I love and appreciate what Butch has done so far with this program. He has put in work. Still, however; if we are going to continue to achieve our goals this trend simply cannot become the status quo for our recruiting efforts. Does anyone actually have a solid idea as to why we are taking such a significant dip? Still tickled pink with the strides we have made, but I am starting to feel concern. It just tis what it is.

This is how I look at it, CBJ's selling points have been come to UT to help put Tn back on the map and get PT early on. Then once we turned the corner he could say come help us win a NC in 2016. Now for the 2017 class he can't talk about PT(expect to red shirt) and he can't really say put us back on the map (already happened). All he can say now is come to UT to be part of a championship program, watch what we do this year and keep us in mind(help us win more). I don't mind waiting till NSD to pass judgement.

See you in Tampa.

This kid looks strong and quick. He played DE so I assume he is. He seemed to get to the second level and pull very well. Looks like an OL that's fits our system. Welcome to Big Orange Country Riley!

Star gazers at it again. When will they ever learn? We will sign a really good class in February. Sit back and enjoy the ride.
